My guess is this will be difficult to find a legit source for this: no seatbelt, and hence anyone selling it to you would open themselves up to possibly big liability.

They are available overseas and in Mexico so there must be someone somewhere that can get them! And I thought it had a lap seatbelt, doesn't it?

The UK specs say it's a 3 point belt. I would be hesitant to install safety equipment that would need to hold up in a crash, in case family members would be injured or killed if it was not installed correctly as it's not approved equipment.

They are available ... in Mexico
Then just hop across the border and buy one, eh?
(oops, wrong border(canada))

Alternatively, you could always buy a Kia Rondo (puke)

(eek2) LOL, If a 7th seat availability is why you buy a Rondo then we have a real problem :D

I've been always proud of the MZ5 space and the 7th seat is a smart design, but in reality it looks uncomfortable and cramped. I cannot imagine somebody sitting there for more than 20 minutes without mumbling profanities :D

Just to make you guys jealous, I have to tell you that I have the 7th seat on my euro-spec :)

It has a three-point belt, which comes from the roof, just beneath the 2nd row seat on the driver side. There's a clearly visible hump on the roof which hides the mechanics.

To be honest, I've probably used the seat only once. It's really not usable for anyone to sit in. We usually keep the "basket" visible in the middle, that holds toys, books etc. nicely.

You know you are provoking jealousy here. :-)

We in NA don't get any fancy options but one size-fits-all.

I think at the current fuel price. Mazda might bring out a true 7-seater (no jump seat) next generation. We might even see rear HVAC which is a must for a 7-seater.

Now, all we need is a TD w/ 6-sp manual (I know I'm dreaming).

i'd love it to have the MS6 engine and awd!!

I was wondering about the 7th seat because my mom has already packed 8 ppl in there! 3 in the rear, one in each second row seat, one in the middle sitting on a cooler that fits between the seats and the 2 front. I'm sure the 7th seat is more confortable and safe than a cooler!

Did she use tie-down straps for seat belts? (eek2)

8ppl? Whooaa! Were they adults, kids, a mix? You are right, last time I checked coolers were not approved car seats by the NHTSA. You know how picky NHTSA gets nowadays (rofl2)
