5w30 or 10W30?

Can't quite remember the name of the oil/filter but it wasn't Penzoil or Castrol. I'll call and see. I should really pay more attention to the oil I put in my car but since I've done this numerous times with 3 cars, without too much problem, I think I'm ok. If I had my own garage I'd use a better oil as it'd be more affordable and I'd have a place to do it. I woudl rather put Mobil 1 or some other name brand oil in but because of the cost, I don't.
I've had good luck with Jiffy Lube but found that thier cost isn't worht it, depending on the facility. Some wash the windows (and car), vacuum and other things for the price of the oil change and I find that worth a little more. However most don't do this anymore.

if i recall, the first NO., 5 (5w30) is the oil weight at ambent temp, of course the smaller the that NO.the thinner it is and the easyer the oil gets though the motor.. and the second NO. 30 (5w30) is the weight of the oil at temp!! oils designed to do both, like (10w50)break down with heat cause alot more additives have been added so that the oils have those proporties.. so the smaller the range in cold and hot the better..i use mobil1 synthetic 5w30..more power cause of the thinner oils and better protection in the cold..hard to beat.. maybe change it if your turboed and live in an hot place, to like a 20w40race oil for heat..other than that, id stick to the 5w30
