505 Intake Manifold COMPLETED!

Not sure I understand exactly, but to take a screenshot in Windows press the Print Screen button (could be labeled PrtScr or something, it's one of the three keys in the upper right by scroll lock usually) Then open an application (Word, Paint) and paste it. I think if you press shift or alt or ctrl and prtscr it will only capture the active window, if you just hit prtscr it will capture the entire desktop (startbar, systray, etc) Is that what you were asking?

Haha, yeah that's how to do it with a windows keyboard. Mac has no prtscrn button... if only it were that easy. :)

Shift, open apple, F4.... this will give you a crosshairs... hold the keys down.... click the mouse once at one corner, drag to the other corner, then release.

And this is how I've always done it on the mac side... problem is this command doesn't work when I am on the windows side. :(

Awesome! That's very impressive considering the boost level. I assume you changed the tune to compensate for the new manifold? Little-no loss down low eh? Again, impressive.

I left the tune exactly the same for all of yesterday's runs. With the boost that low, I wasn't adding any fuel with the secondaries at all... and it was running pretty fat on the stock manifold. My manifold (and the extra power it added) leaned it out about a point and a half... from low 10's to high 11's. The timing was running my old 15psi map, built the day after I did the 277 pull... definitely not the most conducive for making power on low boost.

The idea was to have as direct of a comparison as possible between my manifold and the stocker. I knew I wasn't going there to make big numbers, and honestly I already knew that the top end gains would be there. It is noticeable just driving the car. What I was most interested in seeing, was the low/mid range performance of it versus the stocker. Due to a miscommunication between me and the dyno operator, he let off at 5500 instead of 6500. That is totally my fault for not catching it on the before runs. By the time I noticed, the new manifold was already on the car and I wasn't about to swap back and pay for another batch of runs.

When sanders car is ready again we will get some more numbers running at higher boost, with a higher redline, and we'll see what this thing really does as far as peak gains go. Until then, my results show what it will do on the more average setup, through the meat of the powerband.

Here's a quick pic of the chart for now. Will get some clearer ones up when I figure this crap out.

Run 4 blue - stock manifold
Run 5 red - stock manifold, butterflies tied open
Run 6 green - 505 manifold
Run 7 purple - 505 manifold

rich, congrats man you must be happy. Check out that torque curve, impressive. I can't friggin wait to see what it will do on my setup at 20psi.

nice gains. If I was serious about modding I'd be all over it. Good luck with these. Interesting gains with the flappers open too.

I like. :)

I'm guessing mine should be at my door prolly early next week.

Crazycaker, I can't wait to hear about how it goes on your P5. Are you going to dyno at 14psi?
I want to see where your at compared to my setup:). Is you cylinder head stock?

I won't be doing any dyno pulls until spring, and it will be for tuning when I do. My head is stock, but I am using FSH9 cams (one is repinned for the exhaust side).

The batch 1 GB is closed, and there currently isn't anyone on the list that wants to trade out their spot.

However, there will be 4 pieces available for straight-up purchase after the GB mani's are all out, here in roughly a month. All 4 will be the fully loaded version... 2 will be powdercoated black, 2 will be powdercoated extreme chrome. They will all come with EGR flange/hose/fittings.

Price on those will be $999, and they will be boxed and ready to ship immediately after purchase. At this point, I have 9 people that have shown serious interest in these last 4, so I have to do "first come - first serve" on them.

I would have liked to keep the GB open all the way up 'til completion of this first batch, but I don't think that would be fair to the 17 people who have shown amazing patience and faith in me throughout this whole process. The price increase for the ready-to-ship pieces is there for the same reason.

This way, the early adopter doesn't get hosed by price cuts and product improvements (like they always do with pretty much every other part out there (notcool)). In the end, I want the b1 GB folks that truly made this whole thing happen to get the best deal. (bowdown)

Sorry if any of that ruffles feathers with anyone, but that's how it's gotta be. (strike)

Best bet for anyone wanting in on this right now is to subscribe to this thread and check in frequently for updates. I have a strong feeling that those last 4 won't stick around in my possession for very long once the first hand impressions start rolling in. (rockon)
