Stock manifold = ~16lbs.

...do you MSP guys like or dislike not having cruise control?

Impartial here. Doesn't bother me enough to add it.

is there a way you can throw in a thicker IM gasket to keep the heat away from it for a lil extra if the shop does that kind of stuff?? i would hate to have this thing hurt in anyway...

I won't be able to provide one along with the manifolds, but I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to run a thicker gasket with it.

Oh and I forgot to point out one thing that I found interesting. When I got down there yesterday, I thought that Wes had made a new 1-piece plenum, but it is the same one that was shown earlier. Those are actually welds on the top corners of the plenum. :)

Sure....He just Ground them down smooth.
It does look good rich..Wish the b**** was done...Mymotor goes back in in about 10 Days.
Car is getting Sprayed next weekend..I already have Booth Time Set-up for it.
Wanna just ship me one and I can test it as well.

I would pay of course.

lol thats the only one thats been made, and that one isnt even finished yet. Rich brought it home to test fit some stuff and double check on where the fuel rail is going to mount since thats changed. Then after that is done and no other revisions are made its gettin slapped back on the car for road testing

I know that hoe....I am trying not to have to swap intake mais while its on the car...Engine is on the stand right now and will be for about 10-12 more days.

10-12 days just aint happenin man, sorry. The tradeoff of getting a tested part should be more than worth the extra hassle of installing it with the motor in the car. The install really isn't bad. If you have taken the stock manifold off before it won't take you very long at all. This thing is a piece of cake to get back on there because of how easy it is to get at the bottom flange bolts.

I know I wouldn't want a completely untested part if I was you, and even if I could get one out to you in 12 days, you would then be stuck with it and I would not be willing to swap it if any revisions get made after the power testing.

Still want one that fast? ;)

Looks great Rich, can't wait to see the results. Anyhow, to solve the thicker gasket need, what about Outlaw Engineering's thermoblok spacer? That is most likely what I will do.

i remember seeing this thread back in the early stages. I just happen to stumble across it tonight. The manifold looks great.

Looking at our fuel rails, and how they bolt up, it looks different from this, I don't think it will work unless we switch to the protege fuel rail I need to send 505 some pictures....

fuelrail mounts arent done. After talking to rich they are going to use the front 2 fuel rail mounts instead of the rear 2.

As long as that what the Aftermarket Rails like the perrin uses...that will be fine.

You guys have to keep stuff like this in mind..I have a Perin Fuel Rail so if it wont bolt up...then That would suck.

yea I'm just waiting to see how and if everthing bolts right up. I'm gonna have a friend mazda mechanic install it most likely, so I want to make sure it's direct replacement... and waiting to see either 505 or sandspeed test this part real world style, and to see if any cel's are thrown. So I am interested and have the $ but not gonna put my name on the list till then.

is has been stated before this part is not a direct replacement. Your cold pipe is going to have to be cut back shorter and your going to have to use a 45 degree coupler to connect the coldpipe to it

everything else is direct replacement except for where it the cold pipe connects and i dont thinnk there going to be any thing to scre the vtcs and vics solenoids into

I will make sure it works with the perrin rail. Thanks for the reminder fellas. For some reason I was thinking it used all 4 like the stock one, and was going to try and get away with the top two and see what happened. I'll most likely end up going with all 4 mounts for good measure, no need to cheap out now. (alright)
