$500 a month for a Mazdaspeed3?

Yea, they basically tried to steal my trade-in and make me think I was getting money for it. I'm not that dumb.

Honestly, I just went to check out the car. I didn't even bring the pink on my trade-in. But after driving the Mazdaspeed3, I just went with the flow to see what kinda numbers they could throw at me. I didn't think the dealers where so much crooks as they are.

At least now I know where NOT to go to get my final purchase. I'm still comtemplating on going with the Mazdaspeed 3. My credit rating isn't the best, but not the worst. If anything I'll go next to see what numbers they throw at my with a Evo Lancer. On that car I wouldn't mind biting $500 a month. But personally, I don't want to pay more than $350.

Back in 2001 I traded in a 1994 Saturn coupe at the very same dealer, and only had to finance $15,000 for a brand new 2001 Mazda MP3 at 5% intrest, $300 a month.

I thought they could do me a good deal like that again. Guess not, and times have changed in their integrity due to the bad economy becoming rapist!

Weell...the dealers are crooks but it really does depend on the salesman you deal with. The dealer has to be making profit on their sales, if not they would'nt be in business. The salesman try to sell as many cars as possible for the month and sometimes literally give the car away. The dealers do not like cars that have been there a very long time. So if there is 1 2009 Mazdaspeed3 on the lot, go for that one! Dont go for a 2010 Mazdaspeed3 cuz they have alot of those. They want to get out the oldest car on the lot so they will be more flexible on making a good deal. And the salesman gets a bonus to get rid of that particular car, so he will try his best to get you on that car.

Also, dont try to cheat the dealer either because if your asking them to give you a free car..they wont. They'll let you walk away. Be reasonable and smart....not dumb and cocky. And go at the end of the month, they close the books when the month finishes so they want to make as many deals possible. Odds are they will work with you better at the end of the month.

If you're gonna "go with the flow" and fish for numbers, they're gonna highball you. They're not crooks, they're salesmen. The line may seem thin but it's a game that you have to play. The MS3 typically attracts impulsive buyers and if you don't come off seeming well informed, they'll try and milk you assuming you're desperate for the car. The driving sensation of fast cars does tend to have that effect on some people. Knowing the invoice price, factory holdback, estimated TTL values and all that give you bargaining chips.

If you're gonna waltz in and finance through a dealership, be prepared to take it up the ass. $500/month for 60 months will come out to over $30k with interest. Sounds like your credit is pretty bad.

Yea, credit is kinda bad.

Funny thing dealer called me last night that they have my car waiting for me and they have a new bank deal ready, for again, $500 a month. I told the guy I can't afford that. I'd be crazy to get it at that.

fuk'em.

pics of your P5?

lol wow. i got my ms3 with 3.7% apr with 10k down. payments were about 300 a month.

i was 21 and had no credit.......had my father cosign otherwise it wouldve been high (but not 16%)

$20 per every 1,000 you finance for an average rate on 60 mos. Sounds like you are looking at a 30,000 MS3, or they aren't giving you anything for your trade.

I told them I wanted 6k, but it doesn't seem they adjusted the price for it. These guys were trying to eat me alive. I should have only had to finance at least $18-19k.

Anyways it don't matter anymore as I'm keeping my MP3.

You could be driving a high end entry level sports sedan for $500 a month.

You can be driving a really nice BMW for $500 a month.

Thats exactly what my wife said! She's a Registered Nurse, and I told her lets just get a Mercedes for you, and I'll upgrade the crap out of my MP3, put in turbo, get new wheels, etc....!!!!!!!!!! :)

She was very happy with that now! :)

Mercedes no!!! I would rather see you buy a BMW 328i. You quoted me as I was editing my post.

wow i went to the dealer with my msp not without even a thought of trading my car in for a new one. i walked out of there with the decision to get a new ms3 couple days later thats what i was driving. i was only 18 making minumum wage so im paying 466 monthly for 96 months not a stupid decision at all! :p

First off find out your credit score, sounds like it is really poor and you fall in the 'subprime' finance range. Secondly, do your homework on the vehicle, Edmunds, Autotrader or Consumer Reports to see what is ou there from a price point for the Speed 3.

Thirdly do you have any friends or relatives that has S-Plan? A number of companies that do business with Ford or Mazda can get you the car with S-Plan pricing. Fed Ex, Sam's Club, Walmart, Progressive Insurance, Sherwin Williams, various tire companies.

The more you have your ducks in a row, the better of you'll be! Never discuss monthly payment, trade in or down payment until you have covered all of your bases. Dealerships do not make very much money on the sale of a car, they make their money on service and all of the other BS the closer tries to get you to take.

So do your leg work and find another dealer to deal with, other than the one you've just dealt with.
