The pennies have been saved the MS3 is mine!
Ok I know this will seem WAY off topic for this site but does anyone know if the new Evo X engine(4b11t) is direct injected?

Looking at this month's car and driver (which also tests the new SRT-4 btw), it's not direct injected. The big differences from the good ol' 4G63 are all-aluminum construction, a timing chain and variable valve timing on both intake and exhaust cams. It makes 295hp/300lb-ft from 2.0l and weighs almost 30 pounds less than before. More importantly, maybe the fu#!@ers will be able to sell the new Evo in Canada (though it's slower than an Evo IX MR).

So I guess that's one advantage MS3 has over the Evo then. We got direct injection now if it was just tuned properly.

The Audi R8 is DI 420hp 316lbs torque and a beast all around.109k however I rather take a fully loaded 420hp 2008 M3 for 63K out the door:-)

Yea, it seems all the german stuff is getting DI. So I wonder if all cars are gonna go that way eventualy and DI will just be the new way fuel systems work like when EFI replaced carbs.

It's better for many reasons! The biggest reason they are doing it is for emissions purposes. When the new emission standards came out in 2007 the DI will be the way a lot of cars go.

It also allows longer engine life do to better combustion coditions. The new cadys are putting DI in the new cts too.

Audi also has a V-12 Twin Turbo Diesel motor, with CRAZY POWER!!! it obviously direct injected cuz its a diesel, but they have a much higher PSI fuel rail than we do. they run 29,000 psi at the injector!

thats like comparing an Audi RS4 price to a lamborghini Gallardo price, the R8 has the RS4 engine in it too, RS4 being a direct competitor of the M3.

Audi stick that mahoosive 6.0 V12 TDI in their ugly munter Q7 and it shifts
