Ummm... what title... where does it say that...?
Your thread title reads:
45 days till American International cx7 radio kit
I'm not trying to be a jerk... I really was curious and have no idea where I should have seen "Aftermarket Radio install kit"...?

But thank you for answering.

Are you saying it's a replacement for the DVD-Nav head unit...? I can't find any info anywhere.

hey Scott, use your common sense. I'm not trying to be a jerk but have you heard an American International brand for a DVD Head Unit? It is a dash kit/an enclosure/fitment where an aftermarket head unit such as the Alpine IVA-W200 or Pioneer AVIC Z1 would sit on. Popular brands that comes to mind are Scosche and Metra. Use the power of Google before posting your sarcasm.

Just to be clear - there WAS no sarcasm...

I really was confused. I come HERE to find info on my car and accessories for it. I have never heard of American International before this thread.

I am sorry. I wasn't trying to be a jerk either.

Radio Kit ,Aftermarket radio kit what's the difference it is related to the radio that should've been the first clue but don't swet it I ain't mad at ya.

"Use the force luke, Google always works if that doesn't"

Shaz, everyone comes here to get information. Why should someone have to google something, if they can get the answers here, amongst the community of Mazda users? I too, didn't know about American International. You obviously do, but please don't make the presumption that everyone else does. That's ludicrous.

If anyone has legitimate questions, we expect honest answers, without attitude, not being told to google something, not being told to use common sense and certainly we don't expect you or anyone else to blast us with your double-barreled shotgun. I may be inexperienced in automotive matters, but I'm not stupid. Please stop treating everyone as if they are.

Vince.

The confusion for me was just the vague term "Kit"... was it a kit to allow iPod connectivity? An interface for other A/V inputs & outputs...?

Remember - it was clear in Int3grity's mind what he was typing... but to someone who has no clue who AmcnIntl is or what a "Radio Install Kit" is... it was a little confusing.

I get it now, okay? I am not an idiot, but I just didn't figure it out right away with the terminology used. Sorry. :)

I was never sarcastic... just clueless.

ok so from now on I guess we should all be spell check ready
and provide as much info to avoid confusion. My apologies then for those who are lost.

Car radio install kit manufacturers are the following:

Scoshe Industries out of CALI
Metra Out of Florida
American International out of Florida as well

American International holds bigger portion of the market they hold licenses with auto manufacturers such as nissan, honda.
Scoshes industries mostly has licenses with auto manufacturers but for Wiring kits but they also hold a portion of the markety for aftermarket radio install kits and wiring hope that helps :-)

You might want to explain why someone would want one of these kits(drive2)

Is it for Bose owners to replace their systems?

To allow Nav/Bose owners to have in dash DVD?

To replace what you have w or w/o Nav or Bose with a new better aftermarket system?

I would advise you that when you post most CX7 owners are not "INTO" high tech audio/DVD in cars (scratch), but are just normal persons and when said normal person asks what your thread is about you simply explain it in as much detail as the person asking may need in order to understand your thread. More will read the thread and interact. If you or others flame anyone who asks a question, few will bother with your threads and none will post on them.

We should not have to spend 30 minutes searching on the Internet (google) (google) to figure this out individually, that is why most come to these forums. We are here to help each other out. Everyone knows something and does not know about others. Friendly and informative is best. Do not try to boost your self image by putting down others.

Just a thought...(hi)

Hold up what are you talking about dude?
this post is old & done. All I did was post an update to it today
for the ones who did understand what we where talking about

Aftermarket radio Install kit for cx-7 regardless if you have the bose radio or the standard radio. By the way someone above you had already commented explaining what this was. Don't make comments about post this and that and using google when you yourself did not bother to read up

This is an example of a radio install kit

FYI I did know what they were.

I was refering to how it was a bit criptic in your original posting and how it would cause many not familiar with them and their purpose to ask questions and then when they asked how they were responded too in a negative fashion (flame2) instead of with enlightening information.

And yes it is a great kit as it does not butcher your dash as some audio shops do.

ok so does anyone know whether or not this will be a actual double din replacement kit so I can put in a AVIC-D3, or is this a double din insert with single din radio holder and a plastic storage cup for the 2nd part of a double din?
