433WHP Mazdaspeed 3

this whole thing about not being able to run 400, 700, 1000 hp in a fwd is so overplayed and wrong. have any of you people ever been to an actual drag strip and seen NHRA's sport compact series? There are 6-7 second cars there running 1000+ hp on a fwd platform. It's like any car out there whether it's fwd, rwd or awd, it's all about how it's set up.

P.S. Keep the street racing references out of here

well atleast me i didnt say anything about Street Racing, I actually live in Spain and in here we have lots of racing tracks and private roads owned by people where they test they exotic cars and their race cars after their preps..

We know you live in Spain...he wasn't citing you directly, but there were other mentions of street racing.

Well i dont agree with you at all based on my personal experience. yes you can manage that power and more on a fwd, you just need to know how to play with the clutch and power and know how to race.

That sounds like a typical RICER statement.

theres lots of people that think having power on a fwd car is useless i can say to all those people they just dont know. Ive beat lots of car from a dig not to mention rolling where i race the most because there is where the fun is at.

The real platform of a car drag racing is the Almighty RWD/AWD

fwd car are faster rolling than any rwd or awd, using good griping tires and knowing how to drive solve most of the traction proplems also a combination of stuff to prevent help and sometimes solve, Good Suspension, Good motor mounts, Engine damper, good tires and a good driver.

Wow you need to do some research and learn more about racing. FWD car's don't always mean they win from a roll against RWD/AWD cars. Car's that Trap high in the 1/4mile determine who win from a roll.

For instance if i have a

95 Civic EG hatch with a K20swap built with only 315whp, but i run 12.8 because of traction. And i trap 116mph. and i go against a stock RWD LS2 GTO and run 12.8 the same 1/4mile time but it only traps 110mph.

Guess what the EG hatch is going to tear the GTO's ass apart from a roll.

Now if i had a STi with 320AWHP trapping 120mph vs the hatch. It's bye bye hatch. regardless of FWD/AWD/RWD.

120mph>116 traps
116mph>110 traps

Hehe, I am just bored waiting around for people to buy all my used parts. Once I sell them off, I'll leave for s2ki.com :)

Nice dude, I would love to get an s2k for my next ride, your 500whp comment earlier is not making waiting easy........(unamused)

Might not be available for the MS3 or MS6 community for sure they do for us Protege owners as long as you spin some tires you wont break anything

TBK broke his axle on the line, then ran low 11's in his Protege after he changed it, once you build s*** your gonna break don't matter what you drive.

TBK Performance snap their axle after who knows how many track passes theyve done with those axles, also their protege isnt a MSP which the Axles are thicker, I run DSS Level 2 Axles and i can tell you they will hold what ever you trow at them. trust me i know everything about TBK and how they work and what they do.

It don't matter if your driving a speed or not, their's is a full race car so I'm guessing they are using high performance axle's, I'm sure you broke s*** before you got your car to where it is today. I don't know anything about those guy's, I'm just saying what I saw at the track.

They dont run any racing axles just stock LX Axles which are even weaker than the MSP ones, and their car isnt a race car either. its a regular Protege LX with their Highboost Kit. I know because i worked with them building my car in the past.. They did my car and engine from head to toe and i basically know what they use and what they do.

and about breaking s*** like you have mentioned above nothing have been broken yet considering ive done 515whp and 409lbs torque on my last dyno. if you still think i dont have enough power yet to break axles and way more stuff please let me know how Many HP will

I don't know his car, but I have never seen anyone build a car and not break s*** in the process, and I have been around car's since the 80's.

Ill have to knock on wood then because my car have been in excellent shape for the past 2 years without any breakage, including Transmission, LSD, Axles, engine ETC... im currently on my second build basically because im going to a higher stage to get more HP out of this new build of mine not because anything broke. I think it all matters how you build it, who build it and your driving habbits, ive seen people with lot less HP and breaking transmission from left to right, blowing the engine as well. even tho every car is a whole different story even with same performance mods.

Finally you see my point, I'm sure you broke stuff in the past, but after a few mishaps you tend to know your car a little better, but you just never know when something is gonna break.

As I said I don't know your car and I don't know those guy's, I was just saying what I saw at the track. But as you said you've been lucky to find the right combination.

Well as i said before i havent broke anything yet. when you build your car or engine you need to know what exactly do you want to have and do and what for you from it. I went with a 35R turbo which produces more power from mid to top end putting less stress to the gears, lsd and other engine and car components, people using smaller turbos they are blowing up gears, lsds and engines. Having a fast spooling turbo give you instant responds but they run out of air up top where the fun is at and not forgeting the amount of stress you are putting to the mentioned components. I think what you really need to do is plan what you want and use the right components like i said before as long as you spin some tires you wont have problems, i really dont have issues launching or racing from a dig even tho i launch at 26 PSI and im not using good tires at all and my launching is perfect basically because i know how to play with the clutch when its needed i just need to keep my car on street tires to prevent breakage very simple. AWD Systems are more flagile when launching ive seen people with Stis and Evos Launching at 6-7k rpm and snapping basically everything from axles, to Clucthsand Differentials i must say lauching is a matter of a driver thing.
