40k Mile Tune -Up .. Fuel Filter?

Just wondering if there is a fuel filter on the Speed6 and if there is has anyone ever changed it?

I went to my local Autozone and looked up fuel filters for this car and it didnt list it in the big book. However, I have found things in that book to be messed up for the turbo engine.

Example: Air filters... the specified one is too big and you need to use the V6 one instead.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

make sure they change your cabin filter too! its the most tedious horrible job to do on your own, so make sure they do it i beleive its on the list of things they should do for big miles service

I think this is BS. I didn't look into it, but I think its probably just built into the fuel pump. Mazda does this on many of it's vehicles. It lasts a longgg time.

I just asked about changing the fuel filter at the dealership and the confirmed that there is a screen on the fuel pump that acts as a filter.

Yes, we don't have the traditional 'can' style fuel filter on the 6/MS6. No need to change them. As I've mentioned on this subject before, please read your owners manual or sign up for My Mazda on the website for the details. No dealer should add or subtract from that schedule. If you follow it, you're golden.

I agree! Changing this filter is a definite necessity. I wouldn't say it's too tough though, just drop the glovebox and remove it, then pull the cover off the flap where it slides in/out of. 15-20 minutes and minimal tools, if any.
