400whp Msp Build UP

Alright guys, im leaving ommorow morning to go skiing up in Lake Placid NY, i wont be home till thursday. As far as i know the car is just waiting for the PWR radiator to arrive then Nick will start the piping for the FMIC, im sure nick will post updates for you, if not i will catch up with everyone at the end of the week,

Thanks,
Matt

Ok i know i havent posted in a while but not much was happening with the car the past week, due to waiting on parts and waiting on my decisions, nothing to do with Nick, im glad he has good patience with me and the project. well heres the scoop i got the new pwr rad, but it was to thick b/c of the size of my turbo, now he fixed that but when he went to put the turbo in he found out the the internal waste gate will not fit no matter how he put it so , i had to make a fairly quick decsion, either swap to a different turbo , modify my gt2871r with the 28rs housing, or go to an external wastegate, Me and Nick came to a decision to run an external wastegate, use to very slim spal fans, and I beleive he is now working on the ic pipe and intake, once he recieves the wastegate im hopeing this will be the last part i need to wait for in this project, and it will only be a matter of days for him to get it done if we hit no more brick walls. Oh yes he installed the new ignition system also and he says it is very powerful and is going to make all the difference with this car vs. stock system.
Thanks,
Matt
Sorry for any grammer mistakes...

damnit, who let yash out of his cage?
also, fast lane, you are getting the new MPI ignition system? can nick give us some info on this?

Yep it is installed on there now, im sure Nick will give some details once he reads these post..

so what is wrong with the GT2871R? WG hitting the fan? compressor hitting the block?

I'm kinda guessing WG due to "or go to an external wastegate, Me and Nick came to a decision to run an external wastegate, use to very slim spal fans"

but Its just a little unclear to me.

thanks

the wastgate is hitting the block and the copressor housing is just slightly hitting the block but he only had to grind down a little bit...

How much more info. do you need? He came up with the combination of components needed for a high powered ignition system. For the people that have been pushing hp numbers with the Protege know this is a needed improvement.

You should get my manifold. Clears the GT3071R and the tial wastegate perfectly. And it is cast iron header style.

Whats the price? and does it keep a fairly stock location, b/c nick already started my new ic pipeing but i wanted to see how much hp the stock mani can flow so others will know, but ill keep that option in mind.
Thanks,
Matt

Could you post a link to some pics of that? Alot of people would probably be interested.

Do you have aprice for this yet?
Thanks

I found a picture osf the GT30R in the manifold.

The ports are huge and are individual port like a header. It is not an equal lenght manifold, but it capable of 500+ HP. It has larger ports than my 645 WHP RSX Type S manifold.

The price is $379.00 shipped anywhere in the continental USA and and has a lifetime warranty. Can be drilled for either GT25/28 series or GT30/35/T3 flanges.

Ah, and there will be the ceramic coated option. We have 10 units being coated right now. Don't know the additional cost yet.

The Turbo placement is similar to the stock position, but a little higher.

will this anifodl come with a DP (S=pipe) since it a bit modified form stock position?

Yes, that is the piece we are waiting on to release the complete bolt on upgrade kit for the MSP.

We already have the J pipe, but will have the downpipe soon. It will replace the stock manifold, turbo,S pipe and J pipe

No one knows how far the reworked MSP manifold can go. I do not want to go what a big port manifold or header and lose all of the low end spool up, that would kill the lowend torque. Bottom line i will trade 20 whp for 20 lbs ft of torque anyday.

After we do dyno testing and see what the limits are of the manifold we will all know what the deal is with the MSP unit.
