2nd map clamp is a go!

the atp FCD is mechanical. it bleeds out boost before the map sensor. the map clamp simply modifies the signal sent to the ecu.

can someone please put up a picture of it installed into the ecu wires, im trying to install it but no luck, also which way do u turn it to lower the v and how many turns did u do......Thanx in advance guys

...just to clarify

FCD - made by TurboXS is electronic (Fuel Cut Defender)

BCD - made by ATP is mechanical (BOOST Cut Defender)

they are the same thing just different terminology. they both modify the MAP signal to do the same thing just in a different way.

The bcd bleeds boost off fooling the map to see less boost than the car is actually getting. But its a boost leak in general. Works though.

The map clamp, clamps the map voltage on the 0-5v map sensor to what ever desired voltage you want. Anything under 4v will not trigger boost cut. I have mine set at 3.5v and it works perfect. this is much better because its not a boost leak and the turbo doesnt have to work as hard to hit desired boost levels.
Hope this helps.

hmmm i can use my TXS auxilary boost controller as a BCD then if i can T it in between the manifold and map sensor some how, hahaha that would be cool...

i mounted mine inside the battery tray. they guy at mazda did question me about it, but they didnt seem to care. they still honored my warranty on my THIRD replacement of the #4 mount. yes i have torn 3 side motor mounts. TRZ to the rescue ! side mounts are now an upcomming project for them.

i also wonder why it is called #4 when there are only 3 ?! check the recall from mazda.... it says #4 engine/trans mount. makes no sense to me, but hey thats what they call it.

Yeah, I'd like to see some pics too.

The only issue I have is I don't want to cut up wires, if when the AP comes out it allows me to do the same thing with out destroying the wiring. Right?

And now that has Driver311 has seemed to figure why the cars are stumbling well........ I might try this coil spring trick first.

I find it hard to believe that at least 3-5 People have done a Map Clamp installation but have failed to take any pics. It would help me (and others) greatly if you could simply take a few pics of your installation.

i just installed mine, boost cut is done, however today i threw a code for the map sensor. I can only raise the boost to 12.3 according to my DH, cant go any higher.
