$24,910 for ms3 GT

:
2001 Mazda MP3
got quoted for 24910 befor taxes and everything which is a little cheaper than sticker, does that sound like a good price

You can do better than that. I only paid $21,033 before TT&L for my 2008 Speed 3 Sport. The GT Should only cost around $2000 more than a Sport model. Tell them you will only pay invoice. Mine was $500 under invoice but I had to spend a week pitting various dealers aginst one another. They will make money from Mazda even if they sell you the car for invoice.

Scott.

i paid 25,010 for mine bfo taxes and all for my gt...but that was back in feb 07, couldn't get one then so i was just glad to get one for msrp, i waited 3 months for it >< (ordered it dec 06)

every one will have different prices because the market will be different in certain areas. Here in Las Vegas cars seem to be more money than if you were to drive to Utah and buy the same vehicle. I know I would have saved a thousand dollars or so if I would have taken a 3 hour trip to Utah, but the dealership is a stones throw from my house. Just couldnt do it. Main thing is if its in your budget and you think its a good price. Dont let them over charge you though for some market adjustment fee that they tried to get me on.

yeah, they usually do add like a 1000 for "market" adjustment but they will give it to me before they add that. the price they quoted me is actually 300 less than sticker which with this dearlships reputation is actually pretty good

edit it does have sirus sat radio for six months... wooopyy

I went to several dealers in the Chicagoland area and there was no "market adjustment" but they wouldn't budge below MSRP. I went to the local guy and said, "If you'd like my business, beat these other guys." They did, by a satisfactory amount. They also ordered me a fresh one shipped in from Washington state. Plus, I paid cash for my car (my policy in life, now, as long as I can) which made the number alot smaller in the long run.

The last car I bought ('95 Camry XLE) was $6000 which is all I could afford at the time, and it lasted me, trouble free, for 6 years. Sold it for $3000.

autobarn in evanston wanted 27,700 msrp with market adjustment

My car was listed at over $28000. Paying $25800 OTD the door was a great deal for me including all the extras I got. Tax and license fees were around $1700 alone. I definitely didn't get ripped off.

I understand what all of you are saying and your concerned about getting ripped off but I've found most people that get ripped off or only 2 types of people.

A - The people that walk in and pay for everything and don't negotiate at all and seem like they will just take the car no matter what, over anxious people. FYI I've never heard of that market adjustment seems bs to me but maybe out of NY they do have some sort of stuff like that.

B - The people that get cocky and say they want to be below invoice and have a nasty attitude like you owe it to them to sell them a car for pennys when you have to deal with all the crap they are going to put you thru to be penny pinchers.

Here is your best bet, put in a few requests online with a few different dealers or go them get some pricing tell them that you want aggressive pricing because you are going to be shopping who is going to give you the bottom line best price will earn your business. Putting it all out there lets the salesperson know your serious, not a jerk but smart enough to do your homework.

Go to 3 or 4 dealerships and get the pricing and go with the best price. Your local dealers are going to want your business because the market sucks right now and everyone needs to get cars out.

Take into consideration I work for dealerships and because I do I get discount pricing from only mine. I've paid about $500 over invoice on all cars I don't buy with them. It takes alot more work than you think to do that job and patience to deal with the jerks so when you get the honest shopper its nice to be able to work them a good deal. The dealership gets paid off the car from Mazda NOT the salesperson, and in the end if you need something having a good relationship with who sold you the car gets you alot farther.

I would rather be the jerk that saves $2000 than be friends with the salesman that is jerking me around. But thats just me. I'm sure there are nice saleman out there but there are many that will rip you off.

Scott.

Ok did you not read the whole thing ?

You can go in and get pricing that is $2000 under without being a jerk. I never said go in be nice to the salesguy and overpay for the car. I said shop it the right way and you get more than what you are prob expecting. I choose to pay the $500 over the invoice on my cars because I'm in the business and it is the considerate thing to do, not saying anyone should do that as well it happens to be what I choose to do.

By going in and being honest about you price shopping can be done without having a nasty chip on your shoulder Scott, that was the point.

You won't end up buying the car with that guy that jerks you around because within the first 5 minutes of you telling him that your shopping him (even said nicely they will show there colors real quick) he will begin to jerk you around and you can rule him, his price, and his dealership out !!

Get it now ?

Just another piece of information, your right some salespeople out their will rip you off.
Those guys won't keep a job at a good dealership. They cause to many unhappy customers and the dealership never wants bad things being said about them.

You ever think what it is like being a salesperson having to deal day after day with people jerking you off about wanting pricing on a car that they won't buy for a year anyhow and you end up wasting 2 hours with them and the other guy that took an up sold a car and is going to have a good paycheck because of it ? How about the people that did have a crappy experience with a salesguy and come in and think that you should have to kiss their butt because someone else pissed them off ??????????

Their are crappy salespeople and crappy shoppers.

Being nice, and honest will always get you the better deal.
