20psi D'oh!

Heck, I nearly s*** my pants today when my boost gauge pegged 20PSI at half freaking throttle and this is with my upgraded turbo!
Thank God for engine managment and the J&S Safeguard.
The car is running like a freaking champ to. I pulled that MBC out toot-sweet.
For some damn reason with the new mods my 9PSI spring is now a 12PSI spring any MBC I put in it causes uncontrolled boost. I have three of them and I know they aren't all broken.
I thought it was another line obstruction or a kinked line but after replacing all of the vacuum lines and checking everything 3 times I think I may have to step up to an EBC.
Man, I am so glad I was taking it easy when I was testing out the controller.
I ran around last Saturday at 15-17PSI and at 1/3 to 1/2 throttle and it was pulling really hard. I wish I could keep it at exactly 15PSI.
I pretty much have to control the boost with my right foot.
It spools INSTANTLY. Makes me want two more injectors and a forged, 8.5 to 1 motor :)
 
Must have been an awesome few seconds on that roller coaster. Don't blow it up. Hope you get the boost control worked out.

I only hit it once and it was part throttle but it was pulling like Rosie after a chili-dog.
I am so glad I have the J&S and the MPI. I know the MPI was dumping a ton of fuel and the J&S yanked the timing back. I heard no audible ping and the J&S gauge on my dash was lit up like a Christmas tree.
The 15PSI runs are great to but more importantly they are much, much safer.
I worked three months on the damn thing I would like to pay it off in a few months before I build another bottom end.
 
with the money you've spent, it seems like an EBC is a must to help protect your motor!! I know that when i hit 11 psi because of my bad wga, it was amazing, can't even imagine 20 psi with all the mods you've got.
 
lol, fun isnt it!! i ran 15 for 2 ish years then 22 for about 6 months! at 20 psi the pro is insane imo!! go ebc and have fun! my low was 15 with my high at 22-23! when i get back from deployment my low will be 20 with a high of 25-30 (we shall see how high i can push it constantly)

btw i stretched a wristpin at 22-23 psi after 6 months! no holes in my block!

i leave for deployment in october and wont be back until may when a full motor/tranny/new turbo set up/ new ems/ new axles/ new cams/ p&p head/ plus a bunch of other goodies will be waiting for me!! it will be fun

get an ebc and tune for higher boost and have some fun

sure, anybody could have b4, running 22 psi daily on a stock motor w/o fuel cut!!

make the trip to WA and u can drive it after the dyno and street tune!! :)

It is running fine today. I hammered the crap out of it at 12PSI on the way in today. It just purrs like a wee, little tiger.

Be safe on your deployment.(usa)

Thanks for making me laugh :D Great job so far! I've got a J&S as well ... idk why more people don't - cheap insurance.
 
I would not run an MSP at such high boost levels with this upgraded turbo without installing one of these. It will save your ass.
