I want to take a stab at this too. Only thing holding me back is the exterior panel removal.Lbear or anyone that can help- i have to replace one of my 2019 cx-5 tailgate lights as well due to a crack. i got as far as removing all the interior trim when i was shocked to discover the outer panels have to be removed! craaaazzzzyyy! anyway i am a bit faint of heart and do not want damage the outer panels. i have the 10mm bolts off on the interior. is there now a sequence to the outer panels removal and do you have to remove both the upper and lower panel around the tailgate light?
Hey LBear, quick question: At night, do the inner tail lights stay on all the time? And do they become brighter when you hit the brakes? During the day, I assume they stay off unless you hit the brakes (in which case, all lights come on).Yes, another bonus. The tailgate lights light up when you hit the brake lights. This is a daytime pic with NO headlights on, brakes applied. You can see them lit up with the brake pedal being depressed.
