Hi all,
Did my best to search for a related thread but didn't find anything.

Have any of y'all ever noticed your Mazda3(most recent gen) take unusually longer to start throughout the day?

50% of the time, my engine doesn't sound normal when starting up - it sounds like it's struggling moderately. It takes a couple seconds longer in comparison to how long it used to take to start up when brand new and to cars I've test driven before and after purchasing it. It has happened to me intermittently for the past 3 weeks, 1 out of every 2 times. I start the car first thing in the morning, it happens; drive to lunch, it happens; drive home, it happens. I live in California, in temperate weather. I've had it since July and have driven 2,900 miles(350+/week); I drive about 60/40 highway to city and am easy on the engine(37.5 MPG). The car is completely stock and I have no plans on modifying it. Any help is appreciated! Thank you for helping out a first-timer on this forum.

Revving a bit over 1000-1200 RPM for 10-15 seconds is normal. The engine heats up the catalytic converters quicker and gets the oil circulating faster, as well.

Tim, did the dealership check the battery cable connections? You can always get the battery load-tested to make sure it meets cold cranking amps specification.
