We have a 2012 Mazda 3 2.5 automatic with 83000 miles that we bought new. On January 2020 driving on the interstate at 60 miles an hour it suddenly downshifted into 3rd gear and auto transmission light flashed it felt almost like we where rear ended Mazda only had 61000 miles at the time we took the next exit and check the fluid it was good we drove it home. Wife drove it to work the next couple of days and it would hear and the slip and auto transmission light would flash we finally took it to Mazda dealership and they kept it for over a month and couldn’t diagnose the problem finally serviced advisor said it can be the transmission control module or worst case the transmission so we agreed that we would have the put a new transmission control module for 2400 dallors it fix the problem but ever since then once in a while it hesitates when going into 2nd gear.
Any idea what could be causing this..?
