2011 Mazda 2 1.5 performance chip

What does this tune do to the fuel economy of the 2? Is the tune just revealing the actual potential of the car, or is there a significant sacrifice to get these performance numbers?

Thank you for posting! Looks like you may have some customers VERY soon... :) (btw, it seems like you have software for a few different Mazdas - are you a registered Sponsor? and if not, why not ?!? - this forum has lots of users who would want an ecu upgrade :) I checked out some of your work that has been done on other vehicles (on another forum) and so far, it seems that most everyone is satisfied/very happy! That is GREAT to hear!

Few Questions:

1) Was this on an Auto or Manual Transmission?

2) Do you know what "catback" exhaust was added? According to Racing Beat, a traditional "Cat-back" is not normally an option because there is no flange immediately following the cat - its welded onto the mid-pipe. I'm mainly just curious if this was actually an axelback (which is more common on the 2) or if it was a fully customized and welded true cat-back (which is very rare in the US Mazda2 world right now).

Thanks!

Wow, jmac, didnt realize that you guys made your own in-house exhaust systems... thats nice to hear. I dont know how much it is to become a sponsor, but right now, there are not many power options for US Mazda2 owners, so this could be an excellent time to get in this market if you have parts available... There are not a ton of Mazda2 owners out there yet, but the word appears to be getting out about how great this car is.

I know that I am interested in the ECU reflash, especially with that type of gains.

our car still gets 36-40

Very awesome!

Is custom tuning a reflash for the ECU an option? I had sent you a message on facebook about that. I'm interested in trying out a HHO generator, and I'm pretty sure I'd need some ECU tweaking to make it work right.

They also have/had a disc brake kit in the works. Big brake up front, disc for the rear. I don't know where that project stands, though.

So Lets Be Clear: In this thread, we have seen from jmac36:
a) An incredible ECU reflash that adds ~18HP
b) a header and full exhaust; and
c) a Big brake kit

All 3 of these I was not aware that we even had any options yet. Thats pretty dang impressive! I hope that the cost won't be too high.... :)

All of this info was actually in another thread that is several months old. That is why I was a bit surprised to not see any mention of the reflash when the topic of performance chip came up.

jmac,

I'll be honest, I'm certainly not all that up to speed with my HHO info, but would something like this ( http://www.advancedhho.com/product-p/fsfc001.htm ) not be needed? From what I've read, a lot of people have great luck using an HHO generator with their first tank of gas, but after that the ECU starts dumping more fuel into the engine because the sensors think it's running too lean. Once that happens, the increased mileage drops back to normal. Any thoughts?

Dont forget, leaning out the mixture with one of these devices can potentially make the motor go boom and your waranty go bye-bye, just an FYI.

So anyways, jmac, do you have a website where I can take a look at these items?

So like... we aren't allowed to find out where to acquire this awesome thing through this forum?

I know how to contact him. Just PM me and I will forward his email address and website to you. However his website has NO information on products for the Mazda2 or any prices, so its pretty useless.

In the meantime:
jmac36 - a) please update your website to reflect your actual products and your mailing address, it really would be helpful!
b) and please try to contact Antoine again about sponsorship if interested.

No, I hate to say it, but we are not a vendor here, which is why I try to really never give out our info too much. I sent several mesages to Antone, but never got a response, so I kinda figured he was busy. Sounds hard, but we sponsor 3 mazda forums, one each BMW, Kawasaki, SCCA, and a few other strange ATV site also, so its really about spreading the money to do the most good. If you guys are serious about wanting our services here on this forum, I will happily pursue the vendor status here also.

Moderators: I hope its ok to pass info on via PM. Please try to contact this guy, as he apparently has attempted to make contact with you... He is highly respected in other communities and would be an excellent asset to have for us Mazda owners.

*Disclaimer* I do not have any relation at all to this guy or his business. I just have googled his information for my own personal interest and will gladly pass it on. I have not used or witnessed the quality (or lack thereof) of any products first hand and cannot comment on them. So cool? Cool.

I appreciate your caution. However, sending the info via PM and then posting about it is no better than just simply posting it here. I agree that jmac36 should try again to send the application to Antoine. It is possible that it simply fell through the cracks. It is in everyone's interest to have his products and services readily available, as well as his active and unrestricted support and advice as an approved forum vendor. I hope things work out on that front.

It's absolutely ridiculous that moderators on this forum are erasing URL's and denying users information. jmac36 isn't seeking out attention and starting threads to advertise himself. He doesn't have information in his signature (per the request of you, Nate) and is simply engaging in conversation and replying to questions. I don't quite know what the point would be of parenting the users of this forum. jmac36 posting his url at another user's request is absolutely no different then someone asking me for the url where I buy my products. Would I not be allowed to say, "YOU SHOULD ALL GO BUY ANTENNAS FROM NGPRACING.COM!!" because NGP doesn't hold vendor status?

Freedom of information, sir. If jmac36 isn't specifically seeking out advertising space and conducting verbal contracts and sales through this forum, then posting his url at the request of a user isn't breaking the rules.
