2010 CX-7 SV
Ok, this car has a rim and tire size for this car only 18"x7.5" with crappy Bridgestone Duellers that last 20k miles if you are lucky. No tire shop carries this tire in stock (cause it hasn't been made in 4 years), but can order them from some warehouse...

Has anyone put a different tire on these rims and had any success, the dealer says only the Duellers will fit this car and he can get me more tires (from some warehouse).

Do I need to replace the rims to finally get this fixed?

These rims and tires suck... Just sayin'

I ordered NEXIUM tires from WalMarts in the OEM size (235/60/18). I found them on the WM website-shipped free to the store and gave me the option of mounting them or taking them home. Your dealer is MISINFORMED or trying to mislead you. My Nexium tires are great for the money and out-the-door cost was ~ $575 including mounting, balancing and all taxes. Ed

Sorry I wasn't clear earlier...
My car is the CX-7 SV which has a different wheel size than the Touring Model.
My tire size is P215/70R17. Only the "Low End" models of the CX=7 use this tire, and the Bridgestore Dueller or Blizzak (winter tire) are made specifically for this rim. Bridgestone stopped making these tires years ago but have a "warehouse full of them" somewhere.

I want to know if anyone has put a different sized tire on the rims since these cost $150+ each ($190 from the dealer not including the tire sensor another $15 per tire).

Did you look at www. tirerack.com ?

I tried all local shops as well as online. Mazda had the tires and rims made special for this car, hoping the size would be used by other manufacturers, Mazda abandoned this car and the tire/rim were discontinued.

Because the rim is 7.5 and not 7 or 8 inches (which are the normal sizes) going wider or narrower present different problems. There are many suggestions of tire size replacements, but I haven't found anyone that actually put a different sized tire on without changing the rims.

Also the TPS is worthless so I want to disconnect this and keep it from sending a signal to the dashboard.

Ok, I know P235/65r18 will fit the rims... However, there is a warning from the tire shops that this size will rub.

Has anyone actually used a different tire on the stock rims for the CX-7 SV?

I just installed 225/65/17 on my stock ones last week and they fit and look great. i agree the stock 215/70/17 on this car sucks. even the duellers suck.

Hey Eps -

Have there been any issues regarding the speedometer and actual speed using this size?
