I wanted to figure out what the following acronyms are referring to on the dealers "vehicle invoice" price sheet.
1. DH000489
2. UMC00550
3. RMF00275
4. VRM00161
5. COP00275
6. VCP00161
7. Mt000020

Secondly, On the vehicle invoice sheet there is amount for "atlanta assessment" what are referring to here, since that increase the price by 400 dollars? This is not mentioned on any third party sites (edmunds, cars direct, kbb, etc).

Is there a recent college graduate or previous MAZDA owner discount, I can not find any information?

Thanks for replying!!!

Sunny

Never seen those acronyms.

The Invoice on a bare bone Sport should be $21286 and on the GT it should be $22885.

Then you need to add the destination charge (ligitimate charge on new cars, can't get rid of it) which is $670. That brings it up to $21956 for the Sport and $23555 for the GT. To see legit prices for options you can try going to Edmunds.com and going through their True Market Value Tool, the end result is irrelevant, but it lists the prices for available options on one of the pages.

I don't live in Atlanta, but I think that might be a regional adjustment. To see if that's a BS charge or not you should contact couple other dealers in the area and see if they have it on their invoice or not. Incidentally you should be doing that anyway, just because this dealer is showing you the invoice, doesn't mean that the next dealer won't sell it to you for 200 under the invoice, and the third one won't sell it to you for 500 under the invoice. Even if the other dealers don't have the car you want, they can trade some other car with this dealer at no cost to you.

There are no recent graduate discounts at all, and no current Mazda loyalty discounts on Mazdaspeed 3 (there was one two months ago, maybe it'll be back at some point, but you need to be actually trading in a Mazda to get that discount).

You might get a graduate discount on your insurance though, depending on your Major. Don't forget the insurance, as I just found out it's EXPENSIVE on this car.

$1,272/yr is pretty pricey. If not for my daughter's coverage, our total for three cars is about that.

I was paying 400ish for 6 months on my Mazda3, now I have to pay 900ish on the Speed3 for 6 months.

Who do you insure it with, Bryan? I'm with 21st Century and it seems like you're getting a better price then me even though I'm over 25, have clean record, been with them for 5 years, and have an Engineering degree.
