2009 New York Auto Show: Mazdaspeed 3

Mazda announced this morning that it will use the 2009 New York Auto Show to unveil the 2010 Mazdaspeed 3. No big news here really as this hopped up hatchback already appeared at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show as the Mazda MPS.

Most of the changes to the 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 are cosmetic as it continues to use the same turbocharged, direct injection 2.3-liter as before. Final horsepower numbers haven't been released yet, but don't expect them to vary much from the current setup.

I know the Rotorary people will be upset about this, but they are a great looking wheel on any car.

I can dig it...Quite spicy styling there...I'm sure it will lend itself well to mods like the current model...I'm looking forward to see this new MS3 with various rim and suspension/stance upgrades once new owners start posting pics on the forums!

i like the new headlights, and the angle of the photo gives it an aggressive stance. Almost looks like it's RWD. The big smile seems to work on the MS3 more than on the regular sedan/hatch.

Hood Scoop = FAIL!!!

In my own opinon (which i know doesn't count for much) the hood scoop just makes the front end look worse.

At Least it looks unique thats the best thing about it!!

Not quite. The R3 wheels are 19" and forged, I believe those are the stock 18" size. However similar in the style, yes.

Are those blue lights reflecting off the pedals inside of the car or are they just lights reflecting from the rest of the car show?
