Any secret options on Navigation to view, perhaps road speed, altitude, satellite reception?
My portable Garmin can, but I can't on this expensive built in unit?

Funny - JD Power just sent me a survey this morning regarding the CX9 Nav. I have a Garmin too, and I like it more than the CX9 Nav. I like how the CX9 integrates with the radio, rear camera, etc., but it's not nearly as intuitive as the Garmin and doesn't have some of the neat features like current speed (also has far less POIs and more expensive and less current map updates). The CX9 nav does have quite a bit of flexibility in terms of display options though once you figure out how to work it, plus I like the bigger screen. The one thing I really wish I could do is enter a destination while driving via voice recognition. That's about my only real gripe - other than that, I can deal with it.

All that and I have no answer to your question! However, I think the answer is no, the CX9 nav does not include that functionality.

Yes, you can see some of that in the diagnostic screens.

The old touch the top left, bottom left, top left etc.... I don't have the exact instructions in front of me at this time.

To access the GPS diagnostic menu, turn the ignition to on and press the MENU button and selection NAVIGATION SETUP. Select CALIBRATION and then select Map Version. The screen will then display the software release info and map version info. Press the blank area to the left of the software version TWICE and then press the screen TWICE in the blank area BELOW and to the LEFT of the map version info. You will then enter the diagnostic menu. To exit you must turn off the ignition.
