2009 Mazdaspeed 3 ????

Just a side note...it would be pretty sick if mazda decided to do what dodge did with the srt-4 during its final run. They produced an ACR version with lighter BBS wheels, adjustable suspension, stiffer anti roll bars, and the seats were a tad different too. Same hp, but a few differences here and there, there wasn't much of a price hike on that model compared to regular srt-4's either. Anything is possible i suppose!

I would be amazed if mazda went ahead with the brakes and new racing seats. That stuff would have to impact the price a fair amount.

While we are on the subject of new models and freshening etc... Mazda really needs to put some effort into their audio systems. Ditch the Bose affiliation and get someone who is competent at the audio business in their place. How about JL audio, or even JBL. Either of which are capable of mopping the floor with Bose equipment. Also, try getting a real nav system instead of that crap that everyone hates and has no updates when needed. Your charging 10 times the normal price of NAV on the open market, at least make it worth the $

I agree but sadly most of the average car owners would recognize the Bose name before JL since they've been "factory upgrades" for many years.

I can vouch for what ndedomin has said because i'm in a similar situation, here are copies of the emails I have gotten from my dealer (deployed right now so I got the not so happy news when I came in to shift a few days ago) that my 2008.5 order couldnt be filled and a 2009 must be ordered instead. (works a bit differently since I'm getting the car in germany):

As you know yesterday was a US holiday so unfortunately nobody was working in our New York office so I emailed them again today to find out what is happening with the 2009 Speed 3. Here is a copy of the response I have just received now…




We're awaiting specs for the Mazda3 but I looked in the Mazda trader’s website and they do have the Mazdaspeed3 listed as being available for 2009MY. It looks like they'll have the same trim levels as the 2008MY (Sport, Grand Touring). Hope this helps, if you need anything else just let me know.

This is very, very interesting...looks like we may just be getting a speed3 variant of the freshened body style. Please keep us posted if you get anymore info on the possibility of a 2009 ms3 as mazda may just have another card up its sleeve.

Didn't someone mention that car in the pictures is the '07 prototype? i.e. the '09 or '09.5 model isn't going to be all tricked out, in fact it will likely be identical to the current '08.5.

I can't imagine Mazda making such dramatic changes when there's a redesign coming for the 2010 model year.

ya it was just the axela prototype....and i HIGHLY doubt mazda is making a 09 ms3 but if they are i hope there are very minor minor adjustments like the 08.5
