2008 Vs 2009 Vs 2010

Putting aside the "Used Vs New" angle, can any one list the significant differences between the 2008 and 2010 Mazda5?
I'm considering getting a used 5, but curious what feature exist in particular year(s). I'm avoiding pre-2008 as that is when the 5 speed auto was introduced, and the rear tire chamber issue was resolved.
Thoughts?

'06/'07 models are the ones with the major camber issues.

'08/'09 are pretty much the same.

'10 had a styling change and added dynamic stability control and traction control.

I have .pdfs of the brochures for each of the years, give me your email and I can send them to you. They are too big to host here, they are between about 2.8 MB and 3.5 MB each.

For the record, '08/'09 had a WAY bigger styling change over the '06/'07 than '10 did over '08/'09. That's my $.02.

Thanks for the confirmations all.
Heat, thanks for the brochures.

Now I just need to get the dealer to budge from $15k for a 08.

How many miles on the '08?

I purchased ours back in February with 12k miles for $12,900. I paid registration, title, taxes, etc. which added about another $1000. This was found on ebay and shipped from Michigan to Florida, so I never even test drove it.

I addition to having DSC, 2010's don't have side marker(turn signal) repeaters on the sides just in front of the front doors. Also, I think the 2010 models have slightly different interior colors/textures.

Hey Aaron,
The 08 in question has 23k on it and is listing for $15k. It is a Touring trim, but I care little for the CD changer, moon roof and rear spoiler etc.
Currently the salesguy is doing his best to get me in for a test drive.

Ours is touring also. My wife wanted the sunroof.

When we were shopping, I was fed up with the selection and what dealers wanted, so that's why I went to internet. I was checking Hertz Rent to Buy constantly, but after looking at them, it was obvious that they weren't the best deals. It took persistency, but if I had to do it again, I'd do it the same way.

16 mos ago, I picked up our 27K mile 06 MT Touring for $11,500. I think that $15K is a bit high. If you can't find one below $13K with decent mileage, let me know - my broker buys at nationwide auctions. Sure he could find one in NE, and bring it to you. just don't know commerce law about selling to out-of-state customers.

Pheonix42, there's a sticky thread on this forum where people post recent prices paid. Most are based on new cars, but it gives you an idea on prices.

I got my used M5 from Hertz (2009 Sport, 26k miles, $12,845 before tax & title), so far so good. Not the greatest deal out there but it was a discount compared to what my local dealers were asking for comparable M5's.

Got my 2007 touring with 59k miles for $9000- It was an off-lease vehicle sold at a dealer (manheim) auction. Paid a dealer $250 to get it for me- sure, its got some miles on her, but she's been kept pretty well and I can't beat the sub 10k price!

Just bought an 09 Grand Touring with 20K miles and everything but the nav for only $16K. I'd say to try and talk them down a little bit.

I got my 09 touring 6 months ago, brand new on the lot with 200 mi for $18K before taxes and fees. I would say $15K is high. That being said, these cars do retain value very well but I'm sure you could get a 2010 touring for less than $19K. If you can afford it, go for new. We decided it wasn't worth saving a few grand for a car with an unknown history, but we did feel it wasn't worth the extra to go for the traction and stability. I've lived without them since 1992 and never missed it, I was worried it would be overly aggressive and mess up the driving fun too.

Couldn't resist making a quick search, this should tell you what you should do:

It was just a coincidence that they are all at the same dealer btw. It's also not just one example of each, I think they have just about every combo you can think of and these are just asking prices, not final prices. Up to you, but for my money, I would go with a brand new sport in my choice of colors before I bought a 2008 touring with 20K on it. Especially if you dont care for all the touring "upgrades". Good luck!

Well the dealer sold that 08 Touring with 23k last week. Comparing with what is currently available around here for a 08/09 used it was probably a reasonable price, others in that price range are ex-rentals, which knocks the value down a bit in my mind.

I have been emailing a number of dealers to get S-plan pricing on a Sport with Auto and nothing else. The price difference over used is narrower then I thought, and the insurance difference is also minimal. So we may be going that route...

We bought a 2008 touring with 48k for $13,500. It was a former rental vehicle so it has some scrapes in the paint. I wasn't too concerned with buying used. My family has had a few mazdas and they have all been good for everyone.
