2007 ms3 ecu problem fixed for 2008?

i know there was a recall up to a certain build date for the motor mount issue... but does any one know if the 08 ms3 will have the ecu reflash that takes care of the soot (running rich a/f ratio) on the tailpipe. for a while some dealers were refashing ecus and everyone noticed dramatic improvements in power and soot, other dealers never heard of the thing. Are you guys with the more recent build dates on ms3s getting a sooty tailpipe in a short amount of time like the early 2007s did?

also the ecu needs to be unpadated to recognize the cia so the car doesn't boost spike to 20psi as far as black suit on the tail pipe i think it looks cool

Reflash does change and make the a/f a little leaner. But does not take care of the soot. The soot is not a problem for a turbo car. This car is designed to run alittle rich.

Just to clarify on the CAI, just need to reset the ECU by disconnecting the negative battery cable for approx. 15 minutes and tap the brakes a couple of times just to make sure all power is drained for the ECU.

There isnt a update for CAI,Some people thought there was but there isnt.Just do as knowledge said with the battery.

Black suit is good.. Means youre running rich... you dont want to see it clean as you will be running to lean.. not good!

I understand black soot, but my car visibly SMOKES sometimes. I'm going to ask if they can do anything about it under the warranty coverage when I take it in to have the motor mount recall done. It does it if I accidentally let the revs go to low (say, a 1000 rpm cruise) while crawling through heavy traffic after going highway speeds for a few miles, the car shakes like it is going to stall, recovers, then starts smoking (thick white/grey smoke, smells strongly like gas) and then it stops when I give it a quick rev. It will smoke for as long as I let it, till I rev it once, then it stops. Not very cool. Seems like an ECU glitch to me, since I can reproduce it on command (and stop it on command) and it never smokes otherwise. Also, I checked just to be sure, and it isnt using any oil or a/f, so it is definetly fuel smoke (as if the gas smell didnt confirm it anyway).

Turbo cars just smoke a little bit and the more you mod the more smoke you get. If you don't already have tbe, then you will see even more.

Tuned on a 11.5/1 on my eclipse I still saw black smoke everywhere. It's just the nature of our beasts. Now if it starts to do it at idle or if the color changes to blue or white then you have a problem... Black isn't bad until its too much black or during times when you aren't giving much throttle. If it's a lot then it could be your turbo seals.
