Apparently this process is not going as smooth for some as others, myself being the latter. I called about the recall approx. 1 week before the letter went out. The dealer vaguely knew of the recall, but told me the recall was " VIN specific", whaever that means. Basically what it meant was I had to wait for the official notice before I could schedule an appt. even though I tell them I have to travel to Chicago last weekend from Milwaukee for work. So I get the notice this week and call to schedule and appt. They tell me they have the parts and that I will get a loaner, and it will be done in 1-2 hours. Fine, I dropped it off before work, figured I'd pick it up after work today. Around 3:30 pm, still no call, so I call back. They tell me the recall is for the ENGINE MOUNT, not the bolt, and that since my bolt is damaged, they need to order a replacement. I tell them the BOLT is what is being recalled. So apparently they replaced the mount, but were going to just put the old bolt back if it wasn't damaged. I tell the service guy that I think they have this backward, that the mount requires replacing if the bolt is not to spec. or damaged. So, regardless, I will be getting the new bolt and mount, but have to wait two days with my car in the shop. Anyone else having these problems? I thought the directions/instructions that have been posted here were fairly clear, and I know little to nothing about car engines/repair. Not trying to rag on them, but this is their business and they should know a hell of a lot more about it than me. There does not seem to be too much concern about the engine dropping out, as when I mention this, they tell me "there has been no report of this in the field". I told them to tell that to the poor people here that have posted pics of their engine twisted and hanging on the ground. BTW, whoever had that signature of "not being a true MS3 owner unless your engine falls out" is classic!
