The front end and rear end on the 2006 came out in 2004. The body hasn't changed since the first S2K was built.

only exterior changes is the wheels. the exterior has been here since 04. Honda is a quite a small automaker, they dont have money to build a new car every 5 years for a low volume car. Hence why NSX had been using the same chassis since 90.

how is it different then the 04 update?

1. Drive-by-Wire throttle control system eliminating the need for a mechanical connection between the throttle pedal and the engine.

2. Vehicle Stability Assist system, making the S2000 more stable and forgiving than ever during street driving or in inclement weather conditions.The system can be disabled with the touch of a button when conditions warrant it. Good idea; lots of cars equipped with VSA can't be totally disabled.

3. New seat design and updated console.

4. Standard headrest speakers.

5. Maintenance minder system that notifies the driver when service is required based on driving conditions and oil life rather than on fixed time or mileage intervals

6. Daytime running lamps. Formerly on non-US 2000s only.

7. New alloy wheel design

8. Outside temp thermometer.

9. Laguna Blue Pearl paint.

i think he meant "i wonder how the S2k would perform if it had the 3.5L under its hood," not "i wonder if the S2k is faster than the TL/RL."

if you've driven a 3.5L-powered S2K, more info please!!

there is no such thing as a 3.5L s2k. besides honda doen't make any tranny for rwd in their J series v6.

Depends on the response. Drive a couple of 'em and decide. Have an '04 S2K and prefer direct-drive throttles, thx.
