I can't believe they didn't use the Dsg tranny in the GTI. The Gti would have smoked the si if they got it.

already ran into a new civic SI turbo'd. didn't race though or talk tothe guy, he didnt rev his car or anything, but we both knew his car is faster.

I'll need EM and more boost before I race that.

(mswerd) i just bought the turbo magazine and it has an article with two different civic si coupes. one of the cars was supercharged and put down 286hp and ran a 13 something, i was like damn!! the other was tuned buy temple pf v-tec and was an all motor 14-second car

Si all the way.

Oh, and 1 more time. Whats up with the gti's seats. They are hideous.

I'd never drive a car with horrible seats like that!!!

I like both really, It's two different approaches to the same idea. Is the dsg transmission that much faster than the 6-speed? I personally wouldn't buy the dsg, I been driving manuals since I started driving and always will. I like the si, but the styling is so-so, maybe it grows on you. I would love to swap a k20 into an eg (92-95) hatch, now that's fast. 12 second et's are within easy reach n/a with that setup.

I voted SI although I'll never buy it. Tooo friggin small and the space age dash and lack of a REAL hood, and bad shifter placement and too many blindspots and....

Maybe the sedan SI will at least look a little better.

The DSG is a manual transmission without a manual clutch or levers. It's done electronically.

The seats aren't that nice looking in Plaid in the GTI but they are VERY comfortable and supportive. GTI in black looks real nice too.

I test drove one and it is fast/fun but no LSD=poo.

I'm not gonna vote though until I drive the Si also.

Sadly... Getting your hands on a Civic SI is like finding a diamond ring on the crosswalk... In oregon, out of 9 dealerships I called or visited... not a single one had a SI in stock... and the few who had some incoming were pre-sold and could not be test driven...

Might be easier in other states but you pretty much have to buy the car before you can see or drive it up here...

I vote GTI based only on the fact that the commercials are ******* great!

LOL I agree, those commercials were enough to make me get one... if I were in the market.
