The Z has 3.5 liter V6 engine(NA),why would Nissan downgrade the engine to a 2.6 liter Twin-Turbo when now the Track is puttin' out more hp than the RB26DETT which is approximately 276-280 hp??Roywhitep5 said:they need an rb26dett version
The reason why they say that the RB26DETT is onlt rated at 276-280 is due to the laws in Japan. I think in Japan the highest hp rating is the 275-280 mark. The RB26DETT actually dynoed much higher.Phoenix5 said:The Z has 3.5 liter V6 engine(NA),why would Nissan downgrade the engine to a 2.6 liter Twin-Turbo when now the Track is puttin' out more hp than the RB26DETT which is approximately 276-280 hp??
its known as the japanese gentlemens HP agreement, where japanese carmakers made an agreement to not produce anything higher than 276 HP. when actually the rb26dett has dynoed closer to 400 HPSTLBLKMSP said:The reason why they say that the RB26DETT is onlt rated at 276-280 is due to the laws in Japan.
