What do u all think?? 205 hp sc 2.0 ecotec. doesn't look too bad. interior is pretty nice too. But i'm not a big chevy fan but not a bad lookin car. much better than that damn old lookin cavalier. potential maybe?? wouls u trade your msp?? just skeptical on the chevys.

its a POS

You have to remember GM is not about making a sports cars w/ 4doors. My line of work involves me a majority of all new NA car launches. From my experience with the Cobalt launch, GM through too much too quick at this car. the program was a nightmare I bet my Mazda will still be worth more in 2 years than a cheezy plastic interior supercharged SS.

Maybe some shmuck might beat you off the line, but at least your car doesnt rattle like a toy

i think that is a big step up from the cavelier, because i heard thats what its replacing but does anyone know for sure. but i saw them test driving it here in vegas and they were flyin on the freeway. it was about 4 or 5 of them but really thinking about considering trading my p5 in for the ss cobalt

Yup

The colbolt will replace the Cavalier. Next year the Cavalier will only be produced for rental fleets and other countries. Keep in mind that this car is designed to be cheap and compete with korean imports

<DT>2.0L ECOTEC Supercharged Engine <DD>The all-aluminum dual overhead cam, 2.0L ECOTEC Supercharged four-cylinder engine is built off the strengths of the original, naturally aspirated 2.2L ECOTEC engine. <DD>The 2.0L Supercharged engine has a four-valve cylinder head, maintenance-free chain-driven camshafts, counter-rotating balance shafts and an integrated oil cooler. <DD>The Eaton M62 supercharger spins at a low rpm, which improves durability and creates less noise while allowing for plenty of top-end power. Power delivery of the supercharged engine is instantaneous. Maximum boost of the supercharger is 12 psi. <DD>Also included on this engine: <DD>
  • A direct-mount oil cooler.
  • Oil jets for piston cooling.
  • Heavy-duty pistons.
  • Strong connecting rods.
  • Forged-steel crankshaft.
  • Large oil pump.
  • Sodium-filled exhaust valves for improved durability.
  • A high-strength aluminum cylinder head.
</DD>I think it looks pretty ugly, but promising.

GM is in big time financial trouble. They have to pay union workers even though there is very few vehicles being built right now because of their really slow sales. GM is trying to figure out how to pay retired and soon to be retired pentions. This all equals to GM using every cost-cutting way to produce vehicles.

How is the Cobalt going to compete with imports when the SS and SS Supercharged models sell for 20k+? The Aveo is Chevy answer to the Koreans.

I saw the Cobalt at the New England Auto Show in Boston and its Hot for a sport compact.
