2004 Mazda 3 A/C Compressor

Oh crap , my wifes 04 Mazda 3 left her stranded on the side of the road last
night , had to have it towed to the dealership where they found that the a/c compressor is junk , $1600 to replace , and they say no aftermarket . Anyone have a source ? Aftermarket or used , i don't want to spend $1600 .
Anyone ??

Just got the 3 back , found a used compressor for $150 and had the dealer install . Total with new belt and ac fluid etc an additional $322 .
So not as bad as it could have been , but still a lot $$$$$
