2003 P5 ipod options

Hey all,

I bought my P5 new in feb 03... she's got 120,000 now and is still running strong. I want to keep her bone stock. Thus, what are my options in terms of connecting my ipod? I don't want to use the transmitter option.... anyone else run into this issue and have a solution for me?

I recomend you buy a new radio. Make sure that is an ipod ready radio. They're not that expensive.

Cruthfield.com have several head units under 99.99 with aux inputs.
139.99 gets you IPOD control at the radio if you want to hide the IPOD in the dash. Any of these will vastly improve your sound. Most have over 15 watts per channel. The stock unit maybe has 3 or so. Crutchfield sends you the harness & dash kit so you can wire it up in your house then just plug and play. This makes it easy to return to stock when you need to sell or whatever. I leave the IPOD home and fill a cheap thumbdrive with a few hundred songs.

auxmod tape/md adapter board - 60.00 sylfex.com 3.5mm input, have to control with ipod but better than transmitter

i suggest replacing the headunit. That alone made even my craptastic stock speakers sound WAY better. ... . plug hiding the ipod is always nice too

can't help but to namedrop my alpine cda-9886 if you are looking for headunits. my ipod is nicely hidden away in the glove box along with usb. and as stated crutchfield gives you the harness and all mounting equipment. and yes, getting a decent head unit really does make a world of audio quality difference. there are even a few slightly less flashy head units if your that into keeping your car as stock as possible.

I hear ya on that too bud, lovin the usb grom action I just did in my truck to the factory stereo. It has usb for flash drive action, 3.5mm for anything that has that connection & the wide flat connector for ipods. I run with the flash drive most of the time now & the factory stereo controls the show like a charm & sounds better than the CD does. Here's a link to what I saw & did to my truck............
