I'm trying to figure out what body kit I want and who I want it from. I live in northern NY so I will need something extremely durable. The winters are horrific up here. I dont want anything boxy that I know.
I was looking at the mods on http://www.wingswest.com/products.asp
I liked what I saw, but nothing much for a PR5.
If yall can hook me up with some links I would apriciate it alot. Also any ideas on modding a Protege 5 would be great too.

I personally think that the stock "body kit" looks the best compared to all of the aftermarket body kits.

Actually, any body kit I have seen on this car looks either not as good as stock or much worse (horrible), depending on the quality of the job done.

If I were you I would invest in suspension/ wheels, if you want to go for looks.

If I was to stick with stock, i'd want to do a little extra to it, to make it stand out. I was thinking a lip kit for one. Is there a kit to add to the sides of the stock front and rear bumpers, to make it stand out a bit more? I was also thinking of replacing the grill, but all I can find is mesh. Is there anything else?
Again links would be great, having a hard time getting through the trash on google. I am trying to find stuff on these forums, but again im having a hard time navigating through it to find the information im looking for.

Just remove your Side Molding on the car, get a grill off ebay, and get some eyelids, maybe a lip and your done..... Or you can just buy a Turbo that works to(bowdown)

Personally, I like the body kit I have. It's the Buddy Club 2 Kit with the carbon fiber splitter. I don't recommend the splitter for NY though, it takes its brunt of damage and scrapes. www.buddyclub2.com

Check Protegegarage.com to get yourself affiliated with DG's products in Carbon and Fiberglass......Check Corksport.com for authentic Autoexe body parts...$$$$$....Best kits around are from AutoExe..but they cost yah...

Good luck...It will cost some dough to get it looking better and be quality...

I decided that I like the look that this protege is going for. I think it would look great on a protege5.

I ordered the body kit, the hood bonets, and the fender flares. Since it is for a protege and not a protege5, my body shop has to mold the rear bumper and the rear flares. Other than that all the rest is a easy install. I also orederd the OEM carbon fiber version of the hood, and this part for the grille

Im ordering some eye lids from ebay, and some rain guards. After I get the paint job I only need to replace my fog lights and I will be done with the body work.
Funny enough, the paint job I decided on a month and a half ago is pretty close to being the exact same thing as the protege on the first link. When I saw that link, I was like holy crap that is exactly what I am trying to do to my P5.
Ill post some pics in about a 1 1/2 months.
Thanks for the help with links yall. Much apriciated!

steel? you don't want steel wheels unless you're talking bout for winter tires. You want aluminum painted black

There are a couple of lip options:
For example, whitemp5seattle has an mazdaspeed lip on his P5. Look in his current sig for photo.

Also, DG makes a lip. In this thread, there is a photo of a silver P5 with a DG lip:
http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123668802&highlight=lip

I do not believe rear bumper lips are common.

Also, I think DG makes a grille that is basically like stock but without the mesh and emblem.
dude that silver car is hot

That first link you provided is kind of bogus. Where's a Protege on that page? (shrug)

GL with the project. I hope it turns out good!

I love the MSP front end with the DG lip, BC2 sides and rear. Probally beacuse that is the look i have ;). I think it all blends well together

Got mine from wheelsnext.com $699 shipped wheels tires lugs. Tires were some decent no names. I used them for awhile but ended up buying new ones.
