Hey everyone, i have a 2002 Mazda MPV fitted with the 2.3L L3 engine, This is my friends car and i am a young apprentice trying to learn.
This Mazda has a pretty rough idle in all gears sometimes even stalling out and dying, but if you give it any kind of throttle she comes right.
When i first got to the car and gave it a scan i had a code P0171-FF system too lean, and in live data i could see the LTFT were adding 20.31% fuel that was the only code in the system with no CEL.
I have removed IAC , throttle body and MAF sensor, i have cleaned all of these, i had the IAC plugged in and used my scan tool to command it open/close and it works fine, i will attach a screenshot or freeze frame of some live data.
I have replaced the IAC and TPS sensor with second hand known good parts and it did not change the way the car idled. I found when i unplugged the IAC the idle was perfect but would die when you give it throttle and the revs come down to idle. I disconnected the battery for a bit to see if it would do a idle relearn but this didn't change anything.
Any and all help is very much appreciated, i am a young apprentice just looking to learn, i wish i didnt start working on this mazda because now i have this bug and i just want to fix it!
I will also attach the freeze frame data from the first scan i did, i will label these pre scan
EDIT: I am unable to smoke test the intake system as the smoke tester is at work. I have used a can of engine start around the intake/vacuum lines but was unable to find anything, i understand that this isnt a very good test.
