Hi everyone, brand new to this web site and so far it looks real good. but now i need some help. i am painted my 2001 Miata and i want to remove two pieces of trim but i don't know how. First is the windshield rubber molding. Can this be removed without ruining it? do i need to buy a new piece from a glass installer ? 2. my last question is how to remove the boot molding that holds on the top cover. this molding goes from one side of the car to the other around the rear top of the car. its black in color. and i don't see how to remove it. can you help please?

The windshield moulding is integral to the windsheild itself as it wraps around the edges. The windshield must be removed to gain access to the painted area behind the moulding.

The black strips around the boot are secured by a number of bolts and a touch of adhesive. Remove the "package shelf" carpet and dismantle the area where the soft top attaches to the car (via 3 more metal rails, the rain rail, and the top fabric itself). It can be a real PITA, but it's doable.
