2.3l Blown! Engine swap help!

Hey guys I'm new to the forum. I own a 2905 mazda 3 Alexa manual transmission.
I was driving one day on inner streets where I live and all of a sudden my car starts making a knocking sound. I later find out that I spun a bearing because I was Leaking oil. The problem is that I never saw my oil light come on. Does that mean I need a new one?
Also I found an engine to replace mines but it's off of a automatic mazda 3. Would it still fit?
Please help me out ASAP because I am going to pick up the engine soon!!

did you get your engine yet? I'm working on building a 2.3 that came with an auto. it still had the flexplate bolted when I got it. I tried the flywheel and it bolts right up so your manual should bolt right up. this was my main concern when I first got this engine.
