wow....usually my cars cooled in the less-than-a-mile it takes to get from the interstate to my house. Also, the MSP turbo (as I've said time and time again) does not need a cool off period. It uses oil cooling and coolant cooling. When you shut the motor IF the turbo is hot enough to require cooling it actually syphons coolant through the system.. It's a very unique feature to this turbo. Garrett website has more info
i agree with turbo matty on the cool down part. since peaple are throwing ase certify around. i am an ase certified tech. i specialize in volvo which use garret and mitsu watercooled turbos. i even bought one with 150,000 miles with stock boost of 8psi. i ran it for another 20,000 milesat 15psi with no problems. i even seen water cooled turbos go over 200,000 miles. i never used a turbo timer and never will.
as for the boost gauge i would disagree. as of now i do not have boost controller in my car. but if you do other mods like a fmic or a turbo back exhaust it will tell something. my car went from 6.5psi area to 8.1 psi with no boost controller.
