hey guys,

i'm trying to run some 18x9.5 rims on my car. the offset is +25. i'm well aware of the poke and stretch on my 225s, but my real concern is the 'arm' i highlighted in the attached pictures. at stock height i believe the car will be okay, but if i drop the car on some h&r springs i'm worried about this arm tearing up my tires when the car is loaded. look:

is anyone else running this width and offset without any problems on a lowerd speed6? any input is appreciate guys!

that looks like its connected to the hub...so i dont think it would move, which means u should be good with the size u want

thats pretty wide though, so u may have to do a fender roll

9.5" with a 25 offset may take more than a roll. Not sure all the rolling in the world would keep that from hitting your fender lip.

that ball joint nut isn't going to hit the tire if it isn't in the pic. as justanothermp5 said its connected to the hub.

a friend of mine has the same size and offset on his rx8 and he's dumped on coilovers. I'm going to roll the fenders and drop the car just enough to close the gap...do you think the fender lip would still be an issue ?

lol rx8's do not have the same fenders as the MS6, acura's can fit a 10" wheel with low offset easy, yet its impossible to fit a 10" on a protege

what size tire, how low, how much camber, and what fender mods are u willing to do to get it to fit?

lol well obviously @ the fender thing...my bad stupid question haha...but the rims are 18x9.5 with a +25 offset. Tires are 225. I know I'm rolling the backs and I'm unsure if I'll have to pull and wrap the front. This is my first 'real' project so excuse my ignorance on stance and fender rolling lol.

ok, 225's on a 9.5 is some slight stretch so thats good, im gonna need to do some research on MS6's and then ill be able to help you out more

you going for poke/flush or did you want something functional....cuz this is def not going to be functional (ie: tracking the car)

well i'm not going to track this car. i just want it to be driveable in the sense that i won't have to baby it too much. i know the tire life is gonna be shortened and i know that speedbumps = enemies. i just want to be able to have a backseat passenger without my fenders eating my tires alive.

for a straighter answer: poke is my friend and i like poke. i know that xxr makes the 522 in a 18x8.5 with 30 as the lowest offset but that defets the purpose of the 'concave' look.

as far as springs, the h&r sports look good with a 1.5 to 2.0 drop (just enough to close the gap)

Widest wheel and lowest offset that I've seen is 8.5" with 35mm and that took fender rolling and some pulling...,very interested in seeing if you can make this work.
I think it'll take more work than you are planning.

well i'm planning the fender rolling, pulling if necessary, and the the fender lip rolling (with a heat gun so my paint won't crack) what else would i need to do in your opinion?

yeah an 18x.95 +25 will poke out WAY to much. you wont need to worry about the wheel/tire hitting the anything on the inner part of the wheel well. and a 225/xx/18 will not be a slight streatch it will be pretty knoticable stretch. the offset is too low for that wide of a wheel for the 6/MS6. just like vrspeed said the widest/lowest offset wheel ive seen on the forums is/was an 18x8.5+ 38(which is what im running) and an 18x9+30. witout any major modding of the fenders that is.

anyways enought with my rant, if you can make it work then more power to you. if you do make it work make sure you post up some pics.

well what do you mean by 'major modding' ? and the lowest offset for these in an 18x8.5 is 30...but will the face be concave because i think it defeats the purpose...

fyi:

18x8.5 lowest offset is +30

18x9.5 other offset available is +38

idk man, the 522's arent really my cup of tea, but if u like them, go for it
apparently the 9.5" is going to take some major camber and a pull to fit right, so unless you can get ahold of a wheel the same size locally, just to test fit
i wouldnt do it...didnt realize a 9.5" would be hard to do on a MS6

man why would you put a 225 tire on a 9.5" wheel, thats just ridiculous. go with a 245 at least, why bother getting wider wheels if you don't.

well i went ahead and order the 18x9.6 with a +38 offset. i found some subie guys on google images with the same offset. here's a pic of the flat black:

the fender roll will be this week when my friend and i are both off work...and i'm trying to get my hands on some spc adjustable ball joints since the speed6 ones aren't adjustable.

@bova80: i kind of want the 'look' of the stretch...and i most likely will upgrade to a 235 or 245 in the very near future.

is there any other advice you may have on the camber?

dont tell me your decision was based on that picture.. the impreza has much more area for agressive wheels... it is not going to look like that on the MS6... its going to be like a lowrider on daytons

this is an 18x9.5 +42 wheel

even then i think he still said he needed to run a 3mm spacer as to not run on suspension components.

@m4tic - the picture was just to see that the face was 'concave'. and if that ms6 is a 42 offset won't a 38 be only a slight difference? i like the way that speed6 looks...the slight poke is what i'm going for as i've only seen one other ms6 with that look. if the rims turn out to be a wash i'm wondering what kind of rims those are in the picture you posted ? lol.

my plan is to buy the springs and do the fender roll and wheel installation all in the same sitting.

@zinger002 - was he the guy on spacers? i thought it was a different subaru...a white one...that's why i chose this picture because he didn't mention any need for spacers...but even then subarus are different and i know nothing about the specs. i'll look into it.

like i said i'm new to all this so i appreciate your input. don't take my asking questions as a challenge, i'm just trying to see what works.

ha fender roll, you'll probably have to have the fenders pulled with that size wheel.
