18x7.5 +50

18x7.5 +45 fits alright. Whats the offset on the 8" wide? if it's 48 or greater I'd def go with the wider wheels!

i shouldn't need to roll my fenders for 18x8 right? if the offset is high enough i mean. so i should be looking for +48 and up for 18x8 ?

I don't understand this whole offset thing...(uhm)

I'm I okay with 18X7.5 +42 with 225/40/18's?

18x8 +48 or higher should be good yeah

You're alright with a +42 offset because your wheel is only 7.5 wide (probaby sticks out just as much as a 8" with higher offset)

If I did the math right, an 18x8 48 offset would have the wheel .35mm closer to the wheelwell than an 18x7.5 42offset. In other words, so close that you would have to have freakishly perfect vision to tell the difference by looking at them. Both of them sit less than half an inch closer to the wheelwell than the stock rim.
Bear in mind that this does not take into account tire choices, just the rim itself.

Offset is how much the mating surface of the wheel to the hub is offset from the center of the wheel. Most FWD cars have a positive offset, meaning the hub surface of the wheel is closer to the outside face of the wheel.
