18's on a P5...

nope not at all tht is the only size that will fit properly with out rubbing .. thats what I am running on and i 100% reccomend the Nitto NT 450 Extremes ... deffinatly the baddest tire i have ever been on .. and i mean it is like Krazy glue to the road in almost any weather i have been in aside from snow .. I got minew for $620 USD moutned and balanced financing with 0% interest for 90 days (same as cash)

yeah, $620 is good for all 4 18's...damn tires that size are so pricey.

i was thinking of just going with 17 but for $620 18 may not be a dream anymore =P

I dunno though- the cheapest 18's I've found are $150 a pop. 4 would come to $600 but thats without tires. With a good set of, say, Yokahamas your talking 11-12,000$.

yes it will rub .. i have 18s and they rubbed ... you need a offset of 48 or more ... i had to use camber bolts to camber my rear so it wont rub... ask rishie he has the fitement.

um .. to Prynce P5 over ther .. i am sorry to say but is full of s*** .. since i still have my 18s and they have never rubbed and I have a 45mm offset ... so please ignor the previous statment ... also if you are going to lower your car with these 18s .. yes then at that point you may incurr rubbing time to time but that can easily be avoided in the rear any way if the inner lip of the fender is CAREFULLY tucked in ... but to aswer your question not at this time I do not have my car lowered and it looks a little odd but in the next month or so i will lower it I have changed my mind and want it dropped and i am not going for a drastic drop but i am going with the eibach pro kit and throwing in 4 cross drilled and slotted rotors while Im at it and its only $525 USD .. and so what i was talking about ealier about the price for $620 .that was for tires alone ..not including wheels lol so yes you are correct about the price being in and around $1000-1200 and I got a great deal i gave a buddy that worked for NOPI my ////Alpine V-12 1500 watt amp and 150 and he gave me the brand new wheels so i lucked out .. adn you still can get my wheels really cheap i got a hook up from one of the Distributers of Motegi and I can get a set of the 18s for about 599 shipped or lower so ill post a pict next

Oh yeah I have seen it. Wow those tires are thin, I mean...it's to be expected it's a 35 series tire but jeez! How is the ride...If I dare ask!? Are you planning on lowering it- I think it'll complete the look with the larger rims.

Hmm I figured with that set up you'd be more liable to rub in the front when you turn. I dunno I'm a little weary now about going 18's with a drop. But DAMN it looks good!

thanks man ..well with the eibach it is only a 1.4 front and 1.2 in the back i believe so its not going to be a drastic drop but enough to alteast bring it back to stock hieght lol so as far as the ride goes for now its beed great ..and yes ther eis nothing for wheel protection and so you MUST see every rock, branch, pot hole, ditch, you name it you need to watch for every thing and one more draw back of the 18's or atleast the Motegi's they are like ******* concrete blocks for wheels so it will slow your ride down alot .. to many sacrifices not enough HP lol

If you buy the right wheels they will not rub. The recommended tire size for 18" wheels that "do" fit on the P5 is 215/35/18. If they rub, you have wheels that are either too wide or have the wrong offset. If the wheels are correct, that tire size is perfect.

Motegi MR7's are too heavy! I had a pair of 17" with 215/40 rubber on my civic and they made it into a turtle! I'd say stay away from 18" rims unless you're going for show. I'd rather invest that money into a lightweight set of 16" rims with a good set of tires.

yupper and i also know of a fellow MP5 memberhere that actually crushed his entire rear fender trying to fold it in ... it is not kool

On my civic, I had the option of getting new rubber, taking my springs out, or rolling the inside fender to fix my rear camber. I priced it out and it was cheaper to lose the springs than anything else. Besides, try to find a body shop that will roll your fenders... When I was looking for one, they just laughed at me and more than one said no one will do it for you.

well finding a custom body shop to do it would not me a problem but i mean it seems that almost every thing we try to do on the P5 has a chance of comming out with bad results or damage .. i hate it

What else are you finding hard to do? I just recently bought a my 2003 P5. I know after modding my civic, I ran into a lot of problems with it. It got to the point I traded it in on a P5.
