haha maybe

i have to be ready for the 29 for Mecaglisse ... Pat is fixing my turbo today, then i'll try to go to the dyno for an hour or two to get it running properly in time for the race. i got 10 days to fix everything.

Wana come to VAG in Laval with me for the dyno? alot closer than Ottawa hehe Dan Tremblay works there (the guy who judges Euros in our car shows)

oksure let me know when you are going and we go to v.a.g

Yeah, Its way too crowded at napi on Tuesdays and its unprepped....

And cops are retarded arround here with exhaust (It cant be louder then the original) is the sort of the Law, that has way too many greay areas, and cops drop 270$ tickets whenever they want. Suposedly in 2007 there should be clear decible laws, but for now we deal with bull s***. The Electric option is a MUST so you can shut it when Cops are spotted.

Yo, got my new grill today, Yeah I got a sedan, and I grabbed a grill off ebay, ching ching she fits. There are the 2 side contours dont follow the best neer the bottom, but you cant tell unless your looking at them at an extream (Head near the ground close to the furthest corner looking up at the grill) angle, but Im doing some sanding here and there to make the fitment better, then I will paint it to match the body, not sure if I should leave the mesh in the alluminum as it came, or paint it black.

Ill be at St-Eu tonight with her, see you there if you go.

Damn......Sall Good, you will get there when you can, Im sure your ride will be worth the wait!!!!!!!!

Ill send picks of the grill when I get my cam back from my bud with a new born.

Im taking off to hit St-Eu, in like 20min, catch yah later.

So... where is the post about your car? Would be nice to read about whats been done to get so much power outta the speed6....

I have to be honest here, that kind of cutout doesn't do what its supposed to do...

Having a large open exhaust on a turbo car has ONE basic function, spool the turbo earlier allowing for a larger power range... and if you are on a stock exhaust until the turbo spools thats kind of pointless ;)

Actually it does exactly what it's supposed to do, low end torque is greater with a bit of restriction. I've proven it on my NA car with back to back open and closed dyno's. Two more things to consider:
1. How long are you below your boost threshold (say 5 PSI)
2. Do you have a two-step which gives you boost off the line.

In this case, the point is to not have any noise coming out of the exhaust, at all, no matter what. And open the cutout at the track only.

He wants to be able to floor it in the city without attracting attention from everybody. The WGA based cutout will open as it sees boost, which means that as soon as you wana have a bit of fun and step on it, you make alot of noise. That's not what he wants on his Speed6. Also trust me, for the 0.1 second that "low end" lasts in a race, the "more torque with a bit of restriction" argument is pointless.

I have a 3" straight exhaust and people have said that a 3" unrestricted exhaust is bad for low end and blablabla well i get 15psi of boost by the time i hit 3000rpm and that takes about 1sec in 1st gear, then once i go into 2nd i get instant spool up. That's that he's trying to do ... only difference with mine is that i make noise all the time because of my big exhaust

more low end torque or not, check the videos, he stayed nose to nose with a supercharged mustang on a 1/8mile race. you can't say that a supercharged mustang has no low end torque lol. maybe the stang wouldve passed him on a 1/4mile race, but at that point, low end torque is meaning less as your at redline the whole time

You can control the WGA type cutout with a boost solenoid - aka vacuum relay. I have them in my SRT-4 for a boost control circuit. If you want the cutouts to open on boost, turn on a switch (I'm going to use the defroster button). The low end torque difference would be for about a 1/4 of a second then the cutout would be open from that point foward in the race.
One thing you guys don't understand is that I've had the electric cutouts on my car and they NEVER close entirely. You will always hear a small "rattle" coming from the exhaust from the tiny exhaust leak.

I thought I'd share a different option that works better on boosted cars but people who have never owned a car with cutouts or a sub 12 second car chime in with their theories. I take things a bit slower and do quite a bit of research before tearing into my car but I have built MANY quick vehicles. BTW don't take my 12 second slips from my Impala as the fastest it's gone as I do a bit of racing for cash around my parts and never disclose my quickest times.
