$16 MSP pocket new, he he

Hey all, I just scored a brand new MSP dash pocket from a Mazda dealer for $16 bucks! I'm assuming they f***ed up. I am hoping this 2003 MSP pocket (w/ fold-down door) will fit in my PR5. Anyone know? I have heard the MP3 pocket does and the MSP pocket should be the same.

Yes the pocket will fit in a P5.

Hey guys, so I should have the mp3 pocket next week. They ordered it for me. When I get confirmation on the part # I will post it. What I did is visually show the dealer the pocket in a new mazdaspeed they had on the floor, ran the VIN number into the system and got the part # that way. Jusden

What a waste of money...I asked for a refund the day the part went in. I was frustrated and just wound up getting a generic DIN pocket off the internet.

do you have a part number for that PLASTIC FILLER piece? i bought on of the Pockets from someone on this site but they were still using that piece so i will probably need to go buy one... anything that will help me explain it to the dealer would greatly help...

The MSP does, yes. But I thought you just wanted a cheap filler. Here is a cheap filler. You cant beat that price.

true... but when i asked for the $12 part number that MazdaDan bought was because i think i will need the same part; since i already have a Mazda MP3 Pocket in the mail on its way to my work ... it's a little bar that goes between the pocket and the headunit...

Hey all, here is the part # for the MSP pocket with the fold down door. BJ1H-66-9MO. The dealer found out before delivery that this thing was $90. They were cool though, split the difference and charged me $40 (below cost) on it.

LOL - I KNEW you were getting the MPV pocket for that price, not the MP3/MazdaSpeed one.

My dealer pulled the same s*** on me.

I got the MP3 one off eBay last year for $40.

BTW - mine is from a '99 Protege. So there are other years that used the same pocket - you guys oughtta play Junkyard Wars and search these out if you want them. Surely you can get a fine-looking piece for waaaaay less than the $90 the dealer wants - and probably a lot less than the $40 I spent!

So, that Mazdaspeed dash pocket fits like a champ in my PR5. I didn't need an extra spacer like I thought. Looks great too! Can fit all kinds of illegal paraphenalia in there.

I put one in with out the bracket and it rattles.


How do I pull it out now, and install the bracket?
