12V in centre console

Hi All,

I need to tap into 12v for the dual headrest DVD players that I bought, initially I thought I was going to get one of those "add-a-circuit" things and run the wire up to the under dash fuse panel.

I am now thinking about tapping into the wires behind the 12V accessory plug in the centre console.

I haven't actually got my car yet - it arrives on Thursday next week.

How hard do you think it would be to get the wires up and attach them to the rear of the 12V socket. Can you get the actual 12V socket out from within the console - if so then I could easily tap into the =ve and -ve wires there ??

Any advice ?

I would definately add a curcuit for your purposes. You can tap for light things like gauges and such but its safer / peace of mind to add a circuit for anything "major."

Nice job on the wiring. I presume that is for a rear seat DVD set up.

Thanks for this information, I had clucking noise coming from that area, I was able to remove and find an extra vent laying around in there.
