just went to NAPA to get a quote for the magnaflow catback exhaust. and they want 1185.00 for it. the guy said their cost is 795.00. so i think im going to have to get one online and get it shipped to buffalo ups store then pick it up. unless someone has got a good link up here in canadaland?

yea i kno. just shipping and duty kills me, unless i do the drive to buffalo to pick it up idea

hey man, have it shipped to a shop in buffalo and have it put on while you are there...junk the old one and ride back into canada - no need to sneek it back in ;)

i was thinking about that too. but shop cost would probably be the same as duty and taxes. the cheapest way to get it over is still probably going to cost me 700 or more cdn. might just build a custom one and get some nice tips

the key to all magnaflow exhausts, is that you should only be buying the mufflers, and having a local shop fabricate one with their pipes, to ensure fitment and proper diameter.

^what?
how would it not make more power? its prob only like 5whp at the absolute most
but thats alot on any NA car

The OP has an MS6, it's not NA...

The Magnaflow exaust makes virtually no power at all on the speed.

It requires you to remove the rear exhaust tips from the bumper--which has ended up melting the actual bumper on several cars.

It's crap..

It's only a 2.5" setup, vs. the 3" exhausts from CS and CP-e. I think it's a viable option for most because of pricing. Many people aren't going to shell out $900+ for a dual exhaust system, and the single exit CP-e is awful. It may weigh less, but it looks hokey with only one usable tip on a 'dual-exhaust' car.

The Magnaflow sounds good with a test pipe installed, but don't expect to gain a ton of power. It does give it a nice sound though...

I wouldn't call the CP-E single exit awful, I loved mine, but I did paint the driverside exhaust tip black so it would match the soot covered passenger side tip. If your looking for function over form the CP-E is the way to go.. If you've only got one bank of cylinders why do you need two tips??? I didn't need the extra weight just so other people could see exhaust coming from both tips.

so i think ive decided on get a local shop to make me some custom 3' piping and go with the hks titanium tips

yeah the only thing i would be doing is moving down to one exit no matter what exhaust i had. I think it adds super sleeper points when only someone who knows about the car notices one exhaust coming out. weight reduction + more forcefull sound + extra hp/flow you gain extra from the single vs double (if you are tryin to squeeze all the performance you can = way worth the hokeyness.

Personally, I think it only needs a single exhaust, but with the rear bumper, I would want to keep the symmetry of it.

Since it's been brought up, anyone have any dyno sheets from a B&A install of the Magnaflow system?

i would love to see a new damn bumper made for the speed6, are we the only car without any sort of actual body kit? only ground effects. i wonder if an aftermarket m6 bumper would fit? i think my next cosmetic besides the window flares is gonna be an rx7 rear diffuser/cutting away the stock exhaust diffusers. so it wont look wrong when i have one pipe coming out, the diffuser also blends nicely with the middle buldge on the rear bumper. keeps with the lines of the car and would completely erase the exhaust houseings/cover up the cuts.
