back in the day when the MSP first came out and Joe P was pretty much the only guy everyone was talking about on the board about boost controller and turning up the boost, i remember some members went crazy and got the trio kit from Joe and decided to run about anywhere b/t 12-18psi daily.
What happen to all those members? Is anyone still running above 10psi with over 25K miles on there car? I can't imagine the motor would blow if you run 11psi daily. It really depends on how you drive the car. I mean, if you boost from every light and redline the damn thing, any motor would want to give way.
But if you drive with some sense and boost to 11psi only when you want to drive a little faster, i don't see the reason for our motor to blow. I think those who run higher then 12psi and have a blown motor is due to the fact that they are always running into boost and they abuse the car a little too hard.
Out of curiousity, some of you mentioned more fuel, does this relate to Joe P's Fuel pressure regulator? If so, how does the FPR work?
However, orangezoom pointed out that he ran 15-18psi for about a year and he's 4th ring went on him. 15-18psi is clearly over boost in my opinion without the proper tuning. If you want to run above 10psi, stay below 13psi and don't abuse the car by boosting it from dawn to dust.
You have already a good set up on your car with the FMIC, Injen and colder plugs. I think your next set is to bolt on a larger downpipe and even a cat back to release some back pressure and you should be just fine!
