It's never safe. If you don't know anything about engine management then get the unichip. It's totally plug and play, and it's much less than a blown motor would cost you. It's been proven that every car on this forum runs differently, so you never know if your car is running extremely rich or too lean for the amount of boost you are pushing if you don't have something to monitor it. Plus, if you have the flash I believe it advances timing at a few points and may lean out the fuel mixture at some places (not sure about that one). Either will lead to detonation with too much boost. You have a pretty nice car, and if you don't have the money to throw around fixing the motor every 20,000 miles then don't boost without any idea of what's going on inside your cylinders and fuel delivery system.fufu said:is it safe to boost to 9psi with just the ion turbo back exhaust and colder plugs with octane 91?
