I believe 08 is when Mandatory Tire Pressure Monitoring will be, well mandatory. The only thing holding me back from going today or for past month is I want to

A. Read an actual test drive of an 08 WRX. (Looks are very low on my list of priorities in a car, but that turd better be very, very good if they plan on getting me to buy over a speed3)

2. See what changes are available on the 08 Speed3, I sold my harley almost a month ago and got money burning a hole in my pocket and can't wait to get a new car, but that damn engine falling out thing is scary. I'm just hoping they fix the engine mount and also maybe reprogram to make better power to redline. Also a better IPOD integration is becoming available even on some really crap cars and I'd like to see a good IPOD integration for 08(99% sure it wont happen) Also I'd like to see a Charcoal Grey Speed3 option, whit I know allot of people want to, I'd like white to if there weren't som many black plastic parts that kinda scream ricer a little, thats why I think Black is the sleeper color for the speed3, even though I live in FLA(Stupid hot though)

All speed 3's already have tpms. I don't think there will be any changes. I am sure the motor mount problems will be remedied. I am shitting my pants right now hoping my motor doesn't fall out.

Not all

Not all Mazdaspeed 3 has TPMS.. It is an option....

My Bad, Didn't know it was available. I think its mandated for all cars under 10,000 lbs this year 08. Is it an option or does it come with the GT package?

What he meant was that it will be mandatory for all car manufactures in the US to apply a TPMS. This has been in the works for a couple years now. I hope it eventually gets passed as this is a nice safety precaution. Although alot of manufactures are already applying a TPMS, some manufactures still hold this as an option as NONOPR stated.

yea i agree..the sensors are defintiely good and they save alot of money with rims like ours that will shread the inside if we ride with low pressure...

Mazda North America has confirmed the 08 Mazdaspeed will be available:
Hello Tom,

Thank you for contacting Mazda.

The MAZDASPEED3 for 2008 should be available around August 2007. They will only be available at MAZDASPEED certified dealerships.

I just sent them another e-mail to see if they have the changes for 08, I'll post if they know yet.

well sorry to say dread thats pretty stupid that you would have opted out for the TPMS. It has saved me 4 times already...

Its not stupid if you check your tire pressure. I don't like it because it adds to the price of changing your tires and it makes it a pia to get aftermarket rims. Then you have to have that icon illuminated on the dash if you don't switch out the sensors to your new rims.

why wouldnt u transfer them to new rims? and who really wants to chekc there tires every time u go drive? and if u get a nail while ur driving you wont notice untill the inside o ur tire is shread to pieces

Dread, your car does have it. All MS3s have them. If you didn't the warning light on your console would be flashing every time you started the car.

Well, I have it on my U.S. Speed3 and all winter long, while I rocked 16's on snows, that little yellow light was solid and did not bother me in the least.

Can someone point to me where there are statements about motor mount failures? I always hear about the motor mounts in every thread, but I don't know what the problem is.
And if it's such a common problem, how come there hasn't been a recall for it?

Trust me every person with a speed3 is wondering the same thing. It really seems like a common problem on a car that was only 5000 cars to america and I'm sure there are at least 20 failiures so far I've read about, which even 20 is allot considering if it were an accord that would be hundreds, maybe thouands of cars, percentage wise anyway.(just a guess) I have had the money for this car for over a month now, since I sold my harley, and I'm waiting on 2 things.

1. to read at least one reputable magazine article on the 08 wrx, though I hate the way it looks so bad it better be a new breed of great car to sway me from the speed3, plus I think it may be a couple grand more., which is fine if I think its money well spent.

2. See what the changes to the speed3 for 08 are. Even if they just would do a TSB on the motor mount for the 07, I would prob go tommorrow nd get mine. I'm pretty sold on the speed3, but if evertime I hit a big pothole or shift hard or whatnot I don't want to have to worry bout the engine falling out..

I'm not dogging the car at all. If they would release the changes for the 08's now and there were no changes or changes I don't care about id go get an 07.
This weekend. Its a small. Percentage and to be honest with you if the new WRX isn't what I consider a better car ill prob risk it with the motor mount. Ill just have to get a good torque wrench and allot of loctite and check it at oil change intervals.
