Speaking of TOOLS, LT1- he meant that our 1/4 isn't good, not good like a 13second Q... poor wording is all- but I'm glad you're the second person that has pointed this out on this thread-

No you didn't. Stop lying.

A retard on drugs driving the GT could beat a 18 second 1/4.

LT1, DO YOU EVEN OWN A CAR???
OR DOES YOUR MOMS 85 BUICK WAGON THAT SHE PICK YOU UP FROM SCHOOL IN HAVE THE LT1 IN IT???
DON'T JUST COME UP IN HERE TALKIN' TRASH, CAUSE YOU THINK YOU KNOW, JUST WAIT TILL SOMEONE IN A Japanese CAR PASSES YOU AT THE BUS STOP CAUSE THE CHEVY YOU DREAM OF HAVING IS IN THE SHOP!!!
BY THE WAY I'VE BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT I HAD AN 87 Z28 AND TRADED IT IN FOR A 93 Z28 AND BOTH SPENT MORE TIME IN THE SHOP THAN ON THE ROAD. I FINALLY SMARTENED UP AND WENT JAPANISE AND WILL NEVER GO BACK!

Ok, people, settle down. Think happy thoughts. :)
I'm not sure what the deal was with the guy in the Mustang, but I, being and MP3 owner, would have to agree that a Mustang GT would make minced meat out of our puny little cars from the first chirp of it's tires off the line. An intake isn't going to miraculously add enough power to beat the American muscle that car has. I'm not saying you didn't beat him, but I'd have to agree that he must have screwed up somewhere big time. In a straight line, I get beet by a Dodge Dakota quad cab on a regular basis. (Yes, my girlfriend drives a big ass truck.) That GT driver must have been smoking something at the time.
Anyway, I know it sucks that we aren't made for straight line power, but get 'em in the curves! No one will ever dispute that. :)

HOTTRODD, The truith will set you free my son. Posting that your car is faster than another does not make it so. I know what the mp3 runs in the 1/4 and I know what the GT runs in the 1/4. There is NO way the mp3 won. What would be really funny is if the guy was not even racing. Now that could have happened. hahahaha. :)

Oh, and my pet peive is when you lay the smack down on some ricer and his next comment is "i can take you in the twisties". That is about the gayest comment I have ever heard. If you don't have the power to keep up then some curves ain't gonna help.

cjstringer, you be so right....just last night a Firebird turned in front of me going down the long TWISTY road to the subdivision where I live....there is NO DOUBT that he can out torgue me and leave me in the longer straights.....however.....the first streach is only about 1000 feet....as soon as he turned in front of me he took off....I just down shifted and did my best to stay with him....he put just a little distance between us...but then at the end of that 1000 feet is a SERIOUSLY tight 90 degree turn....with all his extra weight...and NOT NEAR as tight suspension he had to really slow down and even had to take the turn wide....I was right on his butt....the next sharp 90 was only another 500 feet....there was no way he could get away OR handle the corner at the speed I could, so no sooner was he on the gas, he was on his brakes again to take the next corner.....then there is a long straight where he pulled away a bit....then a really nice double banked "S" curve....which I have taken at 80.....the goober in the firebird slowed all the way down to 60 to go through it....I was right on his butt, after that there was only another 1000 ft to go...and another car up ahead so we both just slowed down and went on our way....so....LT1....if the car has a decent driver that knows how to go in more than a straight line....the firebird may have totally walked away from me...but he didn't.....There is a lot to be said for having the torque and hp that is readily available in the domistic V-8's....but you have to know how to drive it to do anything with it. And YES....every once in a while, the other driver believes he has such an advantage...that they screw up and get their ass beat.....been there done that! so its possible that Hottrodd had his day, but dude, it was the exception....don't even think it will happen very often.

Huh? Did the mustang have a flat, a driver with a club foot, or where you hitting that cheap crack again that night??
You're an idiot, maybe your little story makes you feel good, but it just reminds everyone that you're probably some 13 year old moron with penis envy... Grow up.

Hey, how the **** am I supposed to understand French???? You gotta be kidding me. No wonder the French judge voted for the Russians, Canadians throw around the French language like a step-child.

Funny, but very ignorant. I don't know why the mods allow this...

This thread is four pages long. The title is "1/4 times and mods" and there are only like two posts with 1/4 times. The rest are all people flaming a person because they posted a time or because they are Canadian. Although I wasn't able to see where the time slip was on that franch site either. Funny, no one seems to b**** when the site someone posts is in Japanese which is completely undecipherable without serious study. Damn, most of the Japanese people I know can't read it!
I'm thinking maybe the air has a different composition up North. The amount of oxygen in the air could contribute to better fuel burn or something. Therefore causing the car to produce a wee bit more power in that part of the world. It seems the faster times are coming from cars in Canada. The magazines probably test their cars in LA where your lucky you don't have to walk around with an oxygen tank strapped to your back. Or maybe the wrist action learned from years of hockey helps in shifting faster! Just a thought. Yes, I actually use my brain to come up with these posts! Not just flame because someone is better at something than me. :p

True. Is there a mod in the house? No need to call names.

Don't mind LT1 Princess or Low Tech 1, he's tired of racing tractors in BFE a.k.a. OWENSBORO, KY and feels cool flaming a protege board.

I am all stock and am running 17 flat... Dont have a time sheet.. I have a Heads up display system that Counts you down, and stops when the car has gone a quarter mile... it saves your top three which range fro 17 to 17.5

Yes the mp3 is slow...................................................................................but all the stupid chicks that I bang don't have a first clue! As far as they are concerned a fast looking car is a fast car.

This is an attempt at humor. So laugh, everyone needs to chill
Later guys

You do not live up here. You do not understand the language sensitivities up here. Watching a half-hour Pierre Trudeau documentary on A&E does not make make you an expert on French-English relations in Canada.

Yes, we are north of the USA. Yes, the colder ambient temperatures up here may contribute to more power. Yes, there is a high ratio of Canadian board members. No comment on LA. Yes, we do play hockey up here.

Thanks for clarifying. From reading your posts, I had no idea that you used your brain to come up with them.

Look asshole, I was defending the Canadian post. I wouldn't watch a five minute Pierre Trudeau documentary if you paid me. AND I could give a s*** about french-english relations in your god-awful country. Although I might understand language issues considering I live in a state that has a majority of Spanish speakers. I was simply pointing out a couple things that might be the reason behind the higher times. Although, the hockey wrist-action thing was in jest. In your case it must just help with jerking yourself off. Your reply only underscores my comment about using your brain. So why don't you just use your brain to SUCK IT! DOUCHE!
