1/4 mile times with slip

13.3 - 13.5ish

Every .1 in 60' translates to .15-.20 at the big end. Quite a few people have hit 2.0-2.1 on stock tires. So, getting the 60' just to something respectable on street tires would yield a 0.6-0.8 improvement at the stripe.

I personally think anything that traps over 106 should be able to get into the 12s on a tire. I need to come off the dime and get a set of sticky shoes for mine.

Most cars I've seen that trap under 110 are in the low 13's unless they're using slicks/ drag radial or AWD (IE, 1.7 60ft or better) He isn't going to be in the 12's with his current mods and street tires. To think otherwise is rediculous.

^ I think FMOS means that with traction (...on a tire. IE drag radial or slick) aaron could be in the 12's

I could do it.

also, that spelling of ridiculous is ridiculous ;)

Yeah, sorry if I use too much slang. "On a tire" means with a set of sticky drag tires.

If people can pull off 2.0-2.1 60' times on stock rubber, then Aaron's car should go lower 13s easily on stock rubber given that his 60' on a 13.7 pass was a 2.4.

Aaron, I didn't mean to be insulting. Was trying to be encouraging. Sorry.

Borrowed some drag radials and drove 100 miles to the track last night to get a few passes in before the end of the year.

Got to the track about 5:15, made my first pass about 5:40. The time shown on the slip is off a bit. First pass was a 13.3x, right where I hoped and expected to be. Second and third passes, hot laps, are shown here:

After a couple of oil-downs, we sat forever and I didn't put enough heat in the tires, spun a bit out of the hole, ran a 13.5x. Sat forever again, only running one lane due to one of the earlier oil-downs, really put some heat in the tires, got a 1.83 60' and missed the 1-2 shift. 13.3x...

I have a MSCAI, TurboXS BOV, and dogbone motor mount on the car. I do not believe the BOV makes any difference but haven't tested it back and forth yet to verify that. So, my next trip to the track (which won't be until April :(), I'll remove it.

I'm practically certain I can put a MS3, with just a CAI, MM, and on decent tires, into the 12s.

Oh, by the way, a buddy of mine here who bought his MS3 after driving mine put a CAI on it last week. He went to the track and was running 104.x-106.x mph last night, too, with a best I believe of 13.88@106.8 on the stock tires. The key, we both believe, is that your right foot must not leave the floor after you launch.

wow those are killer times!

if I flat shift 1-2, I completely lose traction. After that though I agree. Foot never leaves the floor.

SEE YA ALL IN APRIL!!! it started to flurry last night

EDIT: FMOS got any vids of these runs? That'd be awesome. I guess not all of us can be great drivers :( My next mod Practice then radials LOL great runs. I know my friend with his EVO is in disbelief too.

Sorry about the format...

FMOS Racing - 1.858, 8.415@84.07, 13.080@107.55, (I, MM, DR), 750' ASL.

I just checked the tape and unfortunately the only pass of mine that's on it (since it's my DVC) is the 13.55. I made the really good passes right off the street with the camera rattling around in the center console. I gave my buddy the camera after that long cool down because I *KNEW* I was going to have a great time on that pass. But I don't know those tires well enough and didn't put enough heat in them given how cold the track had gotten by then.

However, if there's skepticism about the times, I can get that video loaded up, show the matching time slip, and you can clearly see the "117" on the side window of the car. I think I'll do that anyway and put it on my Youtube.

Sweet. I believe you others are doubting me unfortunately.

yeah post up the tire sizes if you don't mind and your launching methods, ie, rpms, clutch technic etc....
