1/4 mile times with slip

so I went to the track yesterday and my best time was a 14.329@102 with a horrible 2.4 60'. I should be in the 13's with that MPH but I just couldn't launch the car right. my cobb intake wasn't here in time (comes tomorrow) otherwise it would have definitely been a 13 second pass. anyway, I'll try to get a copy of my slip when I get a chance.

2.419, 9.460@79.54, 14.329@102.23

well I think the ecu is also the problem. what I mean by that is the lack of power sometimes. it must have been running its balls off for the 102mph. wish I could go to the track again right now because I just installed my cobb intake and it's amazing. I would definitely be in the 13's with this.

Easy, especially since you have the test pipe as well. I wouldn't be surprised if you nailed a 13.6- 13.7

I still waiting on my test pipe from SU. Was the corksport one easy to install? And are you happy with it? Seems as if it's given your car a pretty decent bump in power with that 102 trap

lol actually I ran my car stock the other night, just had a corksport motor mount insert (which helped a tiny bit with the wheel hop). I'm still waiting on my corksport testpipe though, should be here next week. and I just installed my cobb intake today (wish it was a day earlier)

there's the slip so I guess the format would be:

2.419, 9.460@79.54, 14.329@102.23 (MM)

Blacksheepms3 - 2.188, 8.8993 @ 82.0, 13.731 @ 101.26 (I/TBE/MM/S),
98ASL
tires are Kumho Ecsta SPT and Rota Wheels P1
Went up against my friend's 2007 wrx with intake and catback exhaust.

here's my slip since I'm on the list and haven't posted yet!

I think with a little luck, and sure, 1 or 2 more parts, I can move up on the list even more!

here's the format:

sleeper3 - 2.210, 8.847@82.91mph, 13.574@104.01mph

nice run! will go back to the track june and try to beat it. hehehe

yeah you should definitely be faster than me! work on those launches (I think we could both lose a tenth on our 60' time) and shifts (this is where I think you have the most room for improvement judging by trap speeds)!!!!! good luck!

So i might have still been spinnin and it affected my 60'? on that run i spun a little bit, but i thought it was good already. I guess i can still improve on that. What i noticed about our cars is that there's no need to rev all the way to 5500rpm or beyond on first gear cause then u'll just get wheelspin, my best time i think I only went to 5000 or tad lower then i shifted to 2nd gear.Even on 2nd gear i didnt go all power. I did it on third gear...went up all the way to 6000rpm. Then went to 4th and did the same thing, I didnt bother to go to fifth, as i passed the lined i hit boost cut...I was at 6500rpm@4th gear at that point. Am i right on? so my trap speed could be lower? less wheelspin=less trap speed=less time , right?

the best I have found, and if you ask people with low times, I think they will agree, is:

1st gear to 6k
2nd gear to 6k
all other gears to 5700 rpm

you're waiting too long to shift. I pulled like 3 tenths or whatever on you after the 60'... there's no way my car has more balls, we should have the same power, or you should have more. shift faster!!!!!

also, I did a little excel work on my time slip and on my run I had a 0-60 time of aproximately 4.8 seconds!!!!!

I'm a math dork, and if you are, the equation I used is
speed=26.12982xtime^.52965
this is an equation that works ONLY with my exact run, so don't try it on yours, and even then it's an aproximation, but if you plug the numbers in, you get my exact 1/8 and 1/4 time and speed, so the 60mph should be very close. I'm pretty stoked about that!

oh i see, you extrapolated where u speed would be by using ur times. 4.8 sec is amazing. 6000rpm on 1st and 2nd? arent you just gonna be spinnin ur tires?but my tires arent that sticky. so would u say that technique would work with one type of tire and not the other?

My 60ft was 2.07 with a 2500 launch. Yokohama Parada Spec 2's 225/40/18. Wonder if I could pull a 1.9 60ft
