09 MS3 Prices

I mean, maybe most customers don't go WOT, either cause theyre scared or because they know what theyre doing, but dealers are pretty unknowledgable when it comes to these cars. When I went to test drive, the dealer got the keys, we got in at the back of the lot, drove to the street (500 feet driveway) and as soon as we were out he slammed it...theyre just not sure what they have beneath their feet and they take advantage of any time they get to drive one.

yea, i went WOT on an STi during a test drive with the dealer riding along, on I95 no less. the car was a lot lizard and the other dealers used it to drive around so it had like 100 miles or so on it.

Update:

Found a true red MS3 GT for 22455 + tll = 24095 - 500 free gas card = $23,595 OTD. This one has 50 miles on it.

So far its between these two.

True Red with 50 miles for $23,595 (240 miles to get it)
Gray with 282 miles for $23,900 (local)

It comes to about the same price when you figure in the cost of gas to go to get it. True Red probably cost about 100-150 less overall with less miles.

These dealers are in the Northeast, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. They had 2 True Reds and maybe some others as of 3 weeks ago.

I would stay away from Mazdaspeeds with 200+ miles. It's not how the car was driven that worries me, it's the fact it was driven hard, short distances after frequent cold starts.

IMO, you're better finding a used one from an owner who takes good care of their car, or finding one with less than 10 miles on the ODO.

So it seems like my MS3 will come from Dallas.

So far the main one i'm looking at is a 09 GT with auto-dimming/compass/homelink mirror and 50 miles for 22455 + TTL = 24095 driveout - (500 dollar gas card) = 23595 (lowest price he can do)

or

2008 GT (apparently fully loaded - nav) and 340 miles for 20,977 plus ttl which = 22,750 driveout (much more room to negotiate since this was his first offer)


Is going for a 08 worth it? I'm thinking not since being 09 will definitely help the re-sale value later on... unless I get a crazy deal on the 08. What would be the best deal for an 08 GT at this point and time? What are the rebates on 08 MS3? What do you suggest me counter offer with? Thanks!

So I picked up an '09 MS3 GT in True Red on Friday from Liberty Mazda! Nice people there, I'm really happy with the purchase. I'll take some updated pictures in a week or two once I've finished installing the eyelids, a/v system, radar detector, and possibly the front plate side mount (I actually don't mind the center mount that's on the car...I might be regretting ordering the side mount since it was about $90).

Anyways, here are some pics from the dealership when I picked it up! I had the Autobond (spelling?) clear bra installed since I do mostly highway driving. So far I'm loving it, it's by far the most fun to drive car I've ever driven!

Not exactly sure, somewhere between $22k and $23k. The reason for this is because it was really a numbers game. They told me I was getting $2-3k more for my trade than it was worth, rather than telling me I was gettin $2k-3k under msrp. You could look at it either way I guess...but I'm happy with the deal in the end.

i have been looking for a long long time.. and i finally settled on a 2009 black speed 3 SPORT. for just under 24k OTD. i think im getting what maybe one of last new like seriously 3 black speed 3's in southern california. new anyways. soo maybe thats why. just a few speed 3's left down here too.

contrary to my username. i have been differnet forums. mocc (local) for about 2 years so yea. i just kept the same name for orignalitly sake. lol

but yeah the dealers around here are pretty set on prices.

Yeah, it sounds like the deals are a little better on the east coast then. My price was before Tax and Title etc, but I only had to pay tax on the difference between this car's price and my trade value. Got the Autobond installed for $400 also, which I thought was a good deal. One of the local shops here quoted me $600 for a clear bra, so I figured $400 was a good deal, especially having it installed on the car when it was new and being picked up.

I bought my 09 MS3 Grand Touring for 23.3k OTD in Carlsbad, California about 3 months ago. Sounds like dealers around your area are hard assed. You did try to call around and talk to their guys who deal with internet sales, right? They give much better prices.

i got the GT down to close to 23k but went for Sport instead. without Nav you can knock off about $2k.

didnt know GT can come without the Nav...

I got my GT without Nav for $23k even. The Nav just isn't worth the $2k since it doesn't control any of the car's feature at all.

Agreed, when I paid $23,100 for my GT, i couldn't see dropping that extra 2k on what's a glorified tomtom (with less than half of the features that my $300 gps has)
