Hate to say this but I'd rock a base vette before I payed that much for a little subaru hatch. I don't even wear gold chains.
Actually I'd buy a used M3, or up shop to a used RS4.
It's interesting how similar to the ms3 it looks. I've had some WRX owners crane their necks at my car. I figured they were just checking out the 3, but I bet they thought it was the new WRX or STI. LOL.
If anything, new STI buyers should be pissed their $40k car looks so much like a $20k car. (my car was 21,200)
I do like the looks of it minus those hideous lights. I'm also not a fan of dual exhaust outs on a 4 cylinder car (jerkit) That's almost as bad as a nonfunctional scoop (ala mustang). Oh well it looks cool right?

Goddamn those STi's are UGLY!!!!!!!! I know I can't be the only one who thinks so...
Seriously. With our current incentives on the table and a bit of shopping around, you can find a 1LT Vette with the LS3 for not much more than 4-5 grand more.
And on your other point about the M3 or RS4...s***, in our area, you can get an E46 witha bout 30-35k miles for 32-33. That price is outragous for a Subaru.

My Honest Oppinion, that STI looks like an ass. How sad Subaru Just Killed a Beautifull Car design for these crap !!! I'll definatelly will get the MS3 Even though i dont like it either, but next to the New STI looks like 10000000000000 times better, and most likely will handle, brake and perform better !!
I think the battery, the way is located, inside the fender, is non replaceable, like Apple's I-stuff. I heard Subaru do it for $300.

Nice! The only thing I don't like is the nose- just not feeling the grill and fog lamps. Especially the neo-retro slits attached to the fogs- looks like a design from a Flash Gordon space craft.
I also don't like the fact that, like the new Evo, it's slightly less performance 0-60 and 1/4 mile performance of it's predecessor.
I know a lot of the Scooby guys are crying fowl over this but +1 for going hatch. I love hatches.

Honestly this has yet to be proven..many mags have already gotten low 13 sec 1/4 mile passes out of the car...wait until this spring when the 08 stockers hit the track..it has more power than the 07 and if it has the same gearing is more than capable of hitting 12's.(boobs)
it looks alot like the car in your sig...I don;t think either are plain looking. have you seen one in person yet?

some mags have already taken the new EVO and STI out. they say that acceleration is a tad slower b/c of the added weight, BUT, around the track, the cars are definitely faster.

07 sti Curb weight WRX STI 1520 kg (3351 lbs)
really not a huge diff...it'll take more than that to see a diff in the time...it takes a 100lbs to make a .10 of a diff in the 1/4 mile time....(enguard)
edit: plus with the bump in hp by 5hp that will even out the what 46lb diff. ...once again if they put the same gear ratios in the car the'll run the same times.

how much leg room is there in the back seat of the ms3? the new sti platofrm has about 2-3 in more than the prior model. I test drove an ms3 but never sat in the back to see how it felt. do you have the demensions by chance?

Sorta +1. I wouldn't say the previous STis/Is and EVOs were good looking. But thats what made them good looking is that the were so outragous, with the snarling grills and big ass spoilers and such. The fact that they looked so boy racerish is what made them look good. Now they look to subdued and grown up. The understated sort of look. The new STI isn't a bad looking car. Its just not a good looking car.
